Meadow Park Care Home

Meadow Park is a purpose-built home offering 24-hour residential care to older people, including people living with dementia. We're located in Bedlington, near to both Newcastle and Morpeth and close to the coast, too. We have our own gardens, which many residents help care for.

Dementia Care

Meadow Park has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.

Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.

Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.

Our approach to care is based on a right to dignity, choice and independence. Every resident has a care plan, which records needs, likes and dislikes. It forms the basis for planning mealtimes so that everyone gets what they most like to eat, for individual and group activities and for helping sustain social lives. Residents and relatives are at the centre of the care planning process, which is reviewed at least monthly, and a nominated key worker helps to ensure that residents and families have someone they know they can turn to for advice and help.

It’s always best to visit yourself and come to your own conclusions: we welcome visitors and calls.

Our Care

Here at Barchester, we're more than a care home. We're a family home. A friendly home, offering the very best care and support from a dedicated and well-trained team. Whether you're looking for residential, nursing care, on your journey with dementia, or looking for respite care, we'll always be here to help.

Every day, we help residents continue to lead meaningful lives for as long as possible. We take the time to understand each person's life story, routines, and what brings them joy to shape their care around their personal needs and wishes.

We celebrate the little things that mean everything - morning, noon and night.

Our residential care is ideal for frail older people that would benefit from additional care and support, but without the need for specialist nursing or dementia care.

Our Facilities

Celebrating life, individuality and dignity is all part of the Barchester philosophy, so the care we provide is designed around these values. We understand that each person has individual needs, so our staff are trained to deliver bespoke, person-centred care to those we support.
