Activities at Hugh Myddelton House Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Our Harvest Festival celebration benefits local food bank

Residents took a sensory journey around the display of fruits and vegetables to celebrate our very own version of Harvest Festival. With touch and smell, memories were revoked of holidays in the sunshine and vegetables grown in family gardens and allotments. Several residents even decided to bring their own bags to the table for a spot of shopping!

Following our Harvest Festival display our thoughts turned to many local families who maybe struggling to buy enough food for their loved ones during this difficult time, staff and relatives have made generous donations of tinned and dried foods for the local food bank.

We were delighted to receive a delivery from Doris and the community committee members of Southgate Rotary to add to our collection for the local food bank. Thank you for your support, we look forward to helping you with similar projects in the future.
