Activities at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular weekly outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including the local theatre and Cathedral's as well as visits from PAT dogs, visiting zoos, musicians and entertainers. We also host evenings such as our Pizza & Quiz Night that we encourage relatives to come to. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Community is fun and active.

Jaime Gilbank

Activities Coordinator Lead

I joined the Chorleywood Beaumont team in 2023 an activities coordinator lead. I  have worked in the care sector for over 9 years and I have been a wellbeing Activities lead for over 2 years.  In this time I continue to build a great knowledge of skills and experience in providing and implementing a variety of activities to cater and support for all needs. Suiting each individual, supporting the mind body and soul.  I am passionate about my role here at Chorleywood Beaumont, providing person centred support and  caring for the wellbeing of everyone. I am a people person and I love putting a smile on our resident’s faces. It is so rewarding and makes me happy.

Life at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home

Creative writing.

Residents from the Creative Writing group at Chorleywood Beaumont wrote beautiful poems yesterday afternoon .
The group came up with so many creative ideas and the words started to flow in an initial draft.

George, one of our residents and group member said: “I have never written a poem before, although I love poetry and I am an avid reader. This challenge brought up a creative side of me that I did not expect.

We have many book lovers living here and Creative Writing and The Book Club are very popular.

Residents are encouraged to read out loud, discuss, debate and express their creativity. This is a great example of how there is no limits to learn, discover and cultivate new passions.  We are so proud to be able to support residents to continue enjoying their interests and hobbies.

International Women’s Day!

Chorleywood Beaumont in Chorleywood marked International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8th by spending the day celebrating the achievements of wonderful trail-blazing women throughout history.

Residents and team members took part in discussions about the role of the many different women who have shaped history from Boudicca to Florence Nightingale and Marie Curie and of  course The Queen.  They talked about the important women in their own lives and celebrated the achievements of their fellow residents.

To continue the celebrations Chorleywood Beaumont hosted a concert with Italian Tenor Yuri Sabatini who put on an amazing show and all the women were presented with roses.
