Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ashitha Dinesh

Activities Assistant

Hi, I'm Ashitha, and I'm proud to be part of the team at Glebefields Care Home as an Activities Assistant. I joined the Glebefields family in 2023, having earned my master’s degree in electrical engineering from Coventry University. Despite my engineering background, I bring a fresh perspective to enriching the lives of our residents. I enjoy creating an environment where they can have fun, connect with others, and stay mind active. Together with my co-workers, I'm dedicated to making every moment special for our residents, bringing happiness and meaning to their lives. It's an honour to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated team at Glebefields Care Home.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Visit to 'Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum'

We had a brilliant day out to the "Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum." Tom, Ray, and Stanley enjoyed it so much that they want to go again! They found lots of interesting things about Churchill and both the world wars. Looking back and talking about it was lots of fun. A big thanks to our staff members, Kay, Tracey, and Dinesh, for making our day at the "Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum" even more special!

Motor Museum Magic

We were privileged to host a lovely visit from the British Motor Museum, featuring a mesmerising presentation on historical artefacts and a talk about vehicles of the past.

Our residents had the opportunity to reminisce about their own cars and reflect on the significant changes in automotive technology over the years, such as the transition from cranking the engine to the modern convenience of turning a key. This event provided a meaningful opportunity for shared stories and a journey down memory lane, creating a truly special day for all.

Macmillan Chai, Coffee, Cake!

We had a fantastic time at our Macmillan Chai, Coffee, Cake, and Asian Nibbles gathering! Everyone loved trying out the different flavours, and we had a sweet surprise as Elizabeth from Drayton village guessed the exact number of sweets in the jar—101

The best part is, we raised a wonderful £248.40 during our Macmillan morning, and we're still accepting donations. Every contribution goes a long way in supporting a worthy cause. Thank you to all our wonderful attendees who made the event so special. Let's keep the community spirit alive and the support flowing!
