Trip to Remember to raise funds for dementia research

Trip to Remember to raise funds for dementia research

A team of 13 fundraisers is set to undertake a gruelling trek in order to raise money for dementia research.

The group's Trip to Remember expedition will see them cycle, row and hike their way from Dublin to the tip of Mount Snowdon, to generate funds for the Alzheimer's Society.

Team member David Bedford, 24, came up with the idea to support dementia research after being inspired the way his grandmother Eunice has dealt with the development of Alzheimer's.

He explained: "At the end of last year I started thinking about what I could do and the route for The Trip to Remember began to evolve.

"The response to the challenge has been incredible and I am extremely proud to be joined by some fantastic people."

Mr Bedford and his team will start their 36-hour Trip to Remember on July 9th.

Eunice Bedford is one of 820,000 people in the UK living with some form of dementia, according to Alzheimer's Research UK.
