Respected Alzheimer's researcher passes away

The Alzheimer's Research Trust has announced "with great sadness" that David Dawbarn, a particularly respected individual in the field, passed away on January 27th.

Mr Dawbarn, who was affiliated with the leading charity, was a highly respected neuroscience researcher working with Bristol University, where he had been a major part of its scientific community since 1985.

The expert went on to join the Alzheimer's Research Trust-run Scientific Advisory Board in 2006 and played an important role in decisions relating to the distribution of resources and funds to convert into research projects.

"All at the Alzheimer's Research Trust [ART] wish to express their gratitude for the help and hard work which David gave to ART, his contributions to our knowledge of Alzheimer's and neurodegenerative disease, and would like to extend their sympathies to David's family," the trust concluded.

The ART is currently dedicated to funding scientific studies to find ways to treat, prevent and cure Alzheimer's disease, Lewy Body disease, vascular dementia and fronto-temporal dementia.
