Man 'claims Parkinson's drug turned him into gay sex addict'

A married father-of-two is attempting to sue a Parkinson's drug company after claiming their product turned him into a compulsive gay sex addict with a gambling problem.

Didier Jambart, 51, claims that British firm GlaxoSmithKline's drug to treat Parkinson's disease caused his behaviour to change radically.

While using the treatment between 2003 and 2005, he became a compulsive gay sex addict, exposing himself on the internet and exploring the world of cross dressing.

Jambart, from France, also became addicted to internet gambling, losing the family's savings and says he attempted to commit suicide three times.

Requip, the drug in question, has been known to have strange side effects, with a warning appearing on its label in 2006.

The National Institutes of Health warns: "Some patients taking ropinirole have shown urges to behave in a way unusual for them. Examples of this are an unusual urge to gamble or increased sexual urges and/or behaviours."
