Louth local raises over £1,500 for Alzheimer's Society

Tracy Salkeld from Louth has managed to raise £1,563 for Alzheimer's Society by carrying out a 12-hour spinathon.

Held in the Pedal Power Studio, the event saw the 51-year-old pedal away from 7am to 7pm, with amazing support from friends and family members. Instructors Lindy Jaines, Zoe Hicks and Faye Bierley helped her along the way too.

According to the Louth Leader, Ms Salkeld said: “I am absolutely overwhelmed by the amount that was raised during the spinathon. I never thought we would raise as much as what we did, so that is amazing."

Her next big challenge will be climbing the South Base Camp of Mount Everest next month, which stands at an altitude of 5,364 metres. She hopes to raise further funds for the society, a charity that is very close to her heart.
