Integrated care network pioneered by government

Integrated care network pioneered by government

"Personalised" and "seamless" care services for local people are central to a new nationwide community to drive up quality of care, health minister Mike O'Brien and care services minister Phil Hope have announced today (February 2nd).

Mr Hope visited an integrated health and social care service in Milton Keynes and made the announcement to aim for a single point of access for people with learning disabilities in this area, joining NHS services, social workers, dieticians, the local council and speech therapists to result in a full package of personalised care and support.

It is hoped that innovative services will become part of such new networks to create debates, discussions and raise challenges for policy makers who will share knowledge and best practice with the 16 pilot sites for integrated care.

Care services minister Phil Hope said: "If local NHS and social care services work together, we can cut costs and improve people’s quality of life.

"Our new network will help showcase services, share best practice and drive up the quality of care across the country."

Phil Hope currently serves as the Labour MP for Corby & East Northamptonshire.
