Meet the Wykeham House Care Home team
Our staff are what hold the home together. Each one of these team members are dedicated to providing high quality care and services to those we support, and ensuring that residents enjoy all aspects of life at our home. See below to meet some of our friendly faces:
Hi, my name is Julia and I am the General Manager here at Wykeham House. Welcome to our website!
I started working part time as a carer in a local care home when I was 16 whilst finishing my studies. At 18, I left home to start my nursing career and, after qualifying as a registered nurse, I went on to midwifery. After having 2 children,I found working in the NHS difficult to manage and had an opportunity to go back to working in care homes. I got my first management position in 1998 and have never looked back. It is so rewarding to do a job that I enjoy and that I am passionate about.
My name is Audrey Chiduku and I am the Deputy General Manager at Wykeham House. I started my nursing career in 2005 back in South Africa, since then I’ve never looked back. I have extensive experience working in the Healthcare industry mainly in the private sector. I am very passionate about making a difference in my residents’ lives; seeing them all happy and well cared for is what I live for. I joined Barchester Healthcare because of the values they stand for which I strive to live by every day of my work life. When I came to the UK I fell in love with looking after the elderly, listening to their life stories and seeing how they have aged gracefully and acquired new behaviours is quite intriguing. I hold various certifications in my nursing carer as well as a BSc degree in Maths and Statistics. At Wykeham house we work towards delivering excellent care to our residents in a holistic approach where individual needs are met in a respectful and dignified manner.
I joined Wykeham House in November 2018 as the administrator, and have many years' experience as a bookkeeper. I am loving the variation of my role and the interacting with residents and their loved ones in this beautiful home.
Hi, Im Val, I started my role here at Wykeham House in September 2020. I predominantly work on weekends although happy to help the team out and cover holidays and week days if needed. Previous to this role I worked as a cashier coordinator for Barclays Bank for over 30 years. My role consisted in travelling to other branches to help coach and train. I love the diversity of my job constantly meeting new people and everyday is different.
I have worked at Wykeham House for almost 14 years. I was divisional winner of the memory lane champion award in 2015. I have trained staff in the so kind and the level 3 10.60.06 enhancing dementia care experience. In recent years I have been working on activities focusing on life enrichment. We get to know our residents life stories before tailoring a programme to suit their specific interests. I have also been involved i community engagement and enjoy sharing with the community all the great events we do. I love what I do and a simple smile from our residents makes my day. We are a strong team here at Wykeham House and i'm proud to be part of it.
I was born in Poland and have been in the UK since 1992 I am married with two children and started my career in catering in the army, working in restaurants in London and then with Barchester Healthcare in 2012 as Head Chef.
I strive to always meet residents' expectations and am always open to new suggestions. Events are my speciality, and seeing everyone enjoy my food gives me great satisfaction. Currently, we are running the ‘Done Dine Alone’ initiative and welcome new guests.

Introducing just a couple of our fantastic nursing team. Always on hand 24 hours a day to make sure they provide the best care for everyone's loved ones. Be safe in the knowledge that they are experienced in every aspect of nursing and supporting those living with dementia.
My name is Richard, but people call me Ricardo, Taffy or Welshman, among other named!
I have worked at Wykeham House for over 10 years. I was employed as the Head Chef for the first 5 years, however, since then, l have worked as the Head of Maintenance.
I love my role, as no two days are the same! One minute l am plumber, then next an electrician, then a painter & decorator – just to name a few of the things l do!
The residents are foremost in my thinking and I believe our elders should always be treated with dignity and politeness and, above all, respect. I also enjoy the banter you get with residents and it is nice to hear some of their life stories.
As a member of the Barchester family, l hope to be here for many more years to come, as this is one of the most satisfying jobs l have ever had. I love it!

Introducing some of the care team here at Wykeham House. They are dedicated, caring, and nothing is to much trouble when looking after the residents here. We pride ourselves on our brilliant team and we could provide the Five star care that we do without them.
Housekeeping & Laundry Team
Our well established team have been together for over five years. We strive to offer the best service and take pride in the fact that we very rarely have missing items of clothing! We understand that laundry issues can sometimes be a problem in care homes and we work closely with residents and loved ones to ensure that if there is anything specific regarding clothing or advice needed, we are here to help.
I have done a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management Engineering in Materials and Testing. I joined Wykeham House as a kitchen porter in 2003 and was promoted to Head of Housekeeping in 2005. I am responsible for the overall operation of the Housekeeping Department and upholding the highest standard of Cleanliness and Safety. While I am going round the home carrying my chores, I always find time to talk to the residents and have a laugh with them. I am good at making them smile.
Shubha, Sharon, Tatiana
