In 2023 my 94 year old aunt moved from Sussex into residential nursing care at Woodside House Care Home, so as to be near to us. At the time she was not in a good place neither physically nor mentally. We have a considerable amount of experience over a number of years involving other aging relatives and other care homes. Woodside House Care Home is the exception. The love and care provided by the staff there without exception, has seen my aunt improve significantly in her general health and well being. She displays a degree of happiness not apparent in recent years, is comfortable and enjoying life again. Whilst in my experience all the care staff are welcoming and caring, the whole operation is overseen by a first class general manager in Sarah Robertson. The administration staff are not to be overlooked, always helpful and approachable and from a user perspective providing an effective and efficient service. One only has to visit the home to appreciate the high level of cleanliness, and the warm and welcoming atmosphere. We have no complaints whatsoever - keep up the good work.

Its so important that we choose the right care home for our loved ones. Woodside House Care Home has so much to offer, from location, super clean, the food smells amazing, staff are kind and upbeat. There always seems to be loads going on, keeping the residences entertained. Myself and my team enjoy visiting when carrying out maintance work.

I cannot express how grateful I am for the outstanding care my Nan has received at Woodside Care Home. From the moment she arrived, the staff have been exceptional, treating her with kindness, respect, and compassion.
The caregivers are not only professional but also genuinely caring. They take the time to understand each resident's needs and preferences, ensuring that my Nan feels comfortable and happy. It’s evident that they are well-trained and dedicated to their roles; they engage with the residents, encouraging them to participate in activities that promote both social interaction and physical well-being.
Moreover, the environment at Woodside Care Home is warm and inviting. The facilities are well-maintained and thoughtfully designed, making it a pleasant place for the residents to live in. Regular updates and communication from the staff ensure that family members are informed and involved in their loved one's care.
I highly recommend Woodside Care Home to anyone looking for a compassionate and professional environment for their family members. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my Nan is in such great hands. Thank you to all the staff for their unwavering support.

Stepping into Woodside House felt less like visiting a care home and more like popping in to see a group of very well-looked-after friends. Honestly, the atmosphere just wraps you up in a warm hug. The staff there? They're not just doing a job; they genuinely care. You can see it in the little chats they have with the residents, the smiles they share – it's lovely.
The manager, what a gem! They clearly set the tone, and it filters right through the whole team. Everyone is so friendly and treats the residents with such kindness and respect. It really puts your mind at ease knowing your loved one is in such good hands.
From my own experience visiting, nothing ever felt like too much trouble for the staff. They're attentive, always popping in to check on people, and they just have a knack for making everyone feel comfortable and valued. It's the little things, you know? A gentle hand on the shoulder, a shared laugh – those moments make all the difference.
The home itself is lovely too. It’s not some stuffy institution; it feels homely. The rooms are nice and bright, and there's always something going on if the residents fancy joining in. And those gardens! What a treat. It's such a peaceful spot to sit and enjoy the fresh air.
What really struck me was how they treat everyone as an individual. They really take the time to get to know each resident, what they like, what they need. It's not a one-size-fits-all approach, which is so important. And they keep families in the loop, which is a huge comfort.
Knowing they've got that 'Good' rating from the CQC just backs up what you see with your own eyes – this is a place that really cares.
If you're looking for a care home in Norwich where your loved one will be genuinely looked after and feel like they're part of a family, you really should have a look at Woodside House. It's a special place.

My stepdad was at Woodside for a few months before he sadly passed away. During my visits it was abundantly clear that the staff genuinely care for their residents, beyond the day-to-day aspects of care. The staff are extremely patient, take the time to listen and respond to what the residents need and create a happy, relaxed environment. I saw residents engaging in regular activities and could tell how important the time was for them, it was lovely to see them having fun. The home was always incredibly clean and the beautiful decor made it feel like a true home. The manager, Sarah, is an unbelievable asset to the home. She went above and beyond to help my Mum through some extremely tough times when my stepdad was receiving end-of-life care. Having her advice and support was so vital for us and I will forever be grateful to her and all the staff in the home for their overwhelming support to us as a family.

Excellent care home, compassionate and supportive to providing a home environment that caters for all needs. Their dedication and care is refreshing to see as a qualified specialist dementia nurse.

Our mum has been in woodside care home for 2 years. The staff here are brilliant. They show such kindness, care for mum so well. She is bedbound so relies on them totally. Nothing is too much trouble. Soon as you walk in there is a happy, calm atmosphere. This has also helped us on our visits, to see mum happy and settled. The staff are so kind, dedicated, hard working , fun! This includes all staff from office, housekeeping , nursing staff. So thankyou for all your hardwork and dedication and all you do.

"Both my parents were residents of Woodside House. My father passed away at the end of last year & my mother continues to live there. It is a wonderfully caring place with lovely facilities but more importantly caring and invested people with the manager at the hub of these values and behaviours. My father was restricted to bed and was care for and supported in all his needs and my mother always describes everyone as lovely & is happy!"

"Woodside is a friendly, caring warm home led by an exceptional manager who encourages her team of carers, admin, activity staff, nursing staff to work together to provide the best possible care for residents. When my brother first arrived he found it difficult to settle. But the whole team never gave up on him, trying to find ways to engage him, working out the times of day when he needed more support. Now he feels supported and enjoys being with his carer, often stopping them on the corridor to tell them he likes them. He is involved in activities which are new to him. He is much calmer and settled. He loves to walk outside. When the warmer weather arrives he will be able to take more advantage of this. I could not wish for a better place for my brother to live."

"My sister has only been in Woodside House for two and a half weeks and so far the care, kindness of the staff to everyone at all times (residents and visitors alike) is outstanding. The food seems very good, the rooms are kept very clean and fresh. The standard of laundry care is excellent. Clothes all nicely presented when brought back, care obviously taken with them. My expectations of the home has been reached and far exceeded my initial hopes, far better than I could have hoped for in all ways. Thank You."

"Mum has been here for 10 days, the place is lovely and clean, all the staff are friendly and helpful. When we asked for staff to take mum to the toilet they did so very quickly - the food looks lovely and the staff are encouraging mum to eat and spend time doing this. All in all we as a family are pleased with this care home."

"Our mum/mother in law has been in the home since August 16, where we are really pleased with all the help and support we get from the staff when we visit regularly. They could n't be more helpful. She is much safer than living at home, where she was really struggling. We would like to wish all staff at Woodside House a really happy Christmas and a great New Year 2017."

"My wife has been a resident of Woodside House care home for just over 8 months and I cannot speak highly enough of the treatment which has been afforded her. The staff have always been attentive and efficient and mindful of my wife's condition. I believe we owe my wife's life to the staff at Woodside because they spotted the first signs of pneumonia when she first arrived in August 2016 and their quick thinking allowed the emergency services to administer antibiotics before the infection was allowed to develop. Thank you Woodside for looking after my wife so well."

"I am pleased to see new staff in senior roles as I felt standards had dropped in recent months. I certainly have faith in the new staff. The carers as always are great, though I feel some could benefit from more training in positioning of residents in chairs/wheelchairs as I frequently find my husband in a poor position. Glad there is a new lead chef too, as the food has been rather poor."

"Mum has been here two years. She has settled well and mostly happy. I feel although the staff work well, there are times when the residents are left longer without any stimulation than I feel is good for them. Mostly, the staff are friendly and helpful. The cleanliness is very good in rooms etc. Some personal care is not always as good: nail cutting and hair washing could be improved. As no place will ever be 100%, the home does well."

"My brother has been in the Barchester Woodside House Care Home for 18 months. He is always in pain with multiple fractures in his spine and ribs. He is slow in his movement and speech. He also has a bed sore which is taking a long while to heal. The staff look after him well but everyone is so busy and he would like to have someone to listen and talk with him and comfort him with his health concerns. He would like to discuss his medications with a doctor but has been unable to see one. Because he is in pain he is not happy. The staff are all very nice and do their best in the time that they have."

"Due to major upheavals, things at Woodside House have turned around. The care staff are very happy and extremely helpful. The residents seem happy and settled. The introduction of a tea trolley has proven very popular. After a short break of the activities being limited the new staff have lots of exciting things in store for residents. All the staff at Woodside House communicate to residents. The only improvement I could see is communication to families by using modern technology i.e. Text message and emails."

"The care my parents received at Woodside House for dementia and general nursing needs was of such excellence that I have continued as a volunteer in the home since their deaths, playing the piano and enjoying music with residents each week. As 'part of the furniture' I quietly continue to see management structures, natural teamwork and genuine compassion which encourage and enable residents and staff to reach out to each other, despite advanced dementia. Life is worth living at Woodside and this is the care I would wish for myself. Clearly, I can no longer comment on all the questions below (rooms, security, value for money) and so have ticked 'good'. My opinion of the food is strongly influenced by the wonderful tiny cakes offered to residents and visitors - especially the brownies!"

"The staff at Woodside House Care Home are all very caring towards the residents. They all have a calm, unhurried approach and treat each resident as the individual person they are. On our very first visit, it was very obvious that the residents are very well cared for and small touches such as a string of pearls of a nicely tied scarf completed the cared for appearance."

"Overall good. I was only there for 1 week. I had a problem with one member of staff not wanting to help me when I needed it. Looking back this happened 2 or 3 times during my stay. The worst part was when I got home finding that my pressure sock was on upside down causing deep grooves in my leg and a swollen foot. I think this member of staff had a problem with me."
