Activities at Sutton Valence Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Bastille Day Celebrations

Bastille Day, or the French National Day, is celebrated on July 14th every year in France. It is a day to celebrate and remember the beginning of the French Revolution, following the storming of the Bastille in Paris, which was a fortress and prison representing French Royalty in 1789.

Bastille Day is a day of celebrations of French culture. Many large-scale public events are held, including a military parade in Paris, as well as communal meals, dances, parties and fireworks.

Despite the current world situation,  Manager Robert Dura May it was important that we celebrate with the French who mark this day with a bang.

Resident at Sutton Valence said: “The staff here have been so wonderful ensuring that we are kept busy at the home, providing engaging and stimulating activities and celebrating events around the world from the care home, these provide warm photos to share with our families and reassure them how well we are being cared for at the .the team allows additional media means of keeping in contact with our loved ones

We are welcoming new residents into our homes to ensure that we are there for those that need care and support, and have a very clear admission policy and infection control protocols that must be met. Please do give us a call on 01622 843999 if you are looking for care or need any further help.

World Chocolate Day

Residents at Sutton Valence revelled in all things sweet on World Chocolate Day with a range of chocolatey activities on Tuesday 7th July.

Staff helped residents make a wonderful triple chocolate fudge covered doughnut mountain and enjoyed fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate after lunch. We also hosted a chocolate-themed quiz and watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
