"Mum moved in at the start of March and I have been so impressed with Strachan House. The care, diligence and positivity of staff, their dedication and support of residents and family members is exceptional. The team of staff communicate brilliantly with each other and families. The range of activities and the beautiful, safe and clean facilities are wonderful. It made a heartbreaking decision less stressful, knowing she is safe and cared for by a very caring, professional team who help so much and support you at every stage. Thank you."

"Our friend was a resident at Strachan House for 18 months. During that time he was treated with nothing but respect and friendship. He kept his dignity throughout his stay. We could not fault the care given to him by the staff in any way at all."

First time visiting, looks lovely, clean, bright and inviting. Most staff lovely and friendly. Lady at reception could be more welcoming, felt like I was interrupting her. Rooms nicely furnished though a tad small. Lots of lovely activities on offer and I'm told the food is very good.

What a wonderful friendly Care Home, set in lovely grounds. The staff are super friendly. It has the feel of a top end hotel, and in all my visits, the residents all have smiles on their faces. I highly recommend Strachan House for your families care needs.

This care home is such a lovely building in a beautiful area. The whole atmosphere in the home is great with wonderful staff who make the residents feel like they are in their own homes.

"My dad has been a resident of Strachan House, Edinburgh for 1 year. I chose Strachan House after looking at several others in the area. It has a very friendly, homely atmosphere and feels well run, clean and well maintained. I enjoy my visits - staff are welcoming, friendly and kind. I feel confident my dad is getting good care. The nursing team keep me informed of any concerns - sometimes when I visit or by telephone - this is appreciated and I often get informal updates when I visit. There is a pleasant, well presented dining room which is carefully set for meals- like a small restaurant - with table cloths, menu choices and flowers. The residents sitting room provides a homely hub on the ground floor- residents come and go - they are not left isolated in their own room -There are daily planned activities including outside speakers, music events, pet visits + thete was a wonderful summer garden festival. The residents rooms are small but can be arranged to suit the resident"

A gorgeous home. So welcoming and friendly. Residents all with smiles on their faces having a fantastic time. There’s a real warmth. The outdoor space, terrace balcony and gardens are superb. And to food was very tasty too.

Lovely care home with gorgeous grounds, staff are very caring. Theres activities throughout the day on all units, this weeks residents are enjoying trips to ratho to go on the barge.

"From the moment we visited Strachan Care Home we have been warmly welcomed. Now six months after my friend moved in it feels like an extended family . The atmosphere is full of joy and laughter. The team are very supportive to residents and visitors alike. The professional yet friendly up- dates by phone are greatly appreciated regarding health or concern up- dates. This is even more important given the distance a relative needs to travel to visit. We thank you all for giving us peace of mind that our Loved ones are being cared for in such a caring supportive manner."

"Lovely atmosphere. The staff are very helpful and friendly, they keep me regularly informed. My cousin seems on the whole to be much happier since becoming a resident last July. He was a huge challenge at the beginning, but the staff coped extremely well. It has been such a relief to me to see him much improved in his demeanour."

"The care home is very cosy, clean and comfortable. It's well-appointed and offers plenty of activities. The meals are lovely and there is a very good variety. If we request a change in menu, it's never a problem. The staff are excellent, kind, caring and helpful. Any issues are handled efficiently and professionally."

"I would like to thank Barchester Strachan House Care Home, Edinburgh and the staff who care for my mum. The care she receives is exceptional. The home is warm, clean and inviting and the staff are very friendly and always smile when I visit. There are plenty of activities organised for the residents and I've never heard my mum being bored. The care staff pay a lot of attention to detail and my mum's needs are always met with respect and dignity. Food is of good quality and if Mum fancies a glass of wine with her evening meal she gets it. I rate this care home very high. Nothing but a positive experience."

"My father has been a resident in the Memory Lane section of Barchester Strachan House Care Home for three months now and is thriving despite his advanced dementia. He loves to spend time in the safely enclosed garden, enjoys the activities and is eating well. The staff are caring, kind and respectful, engaging with the residents as individuals and always take time to discuss his needs and care with us. The management team is flexible, supportive and empathetic as we navigate this journey as a family and I really feel that he couldn't be in better hands."
