Activities at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Zoe Grindley

Activities Coordinator

Hello My name is Zoe, I have been in the life enrichment team at Southgate Beaumont since December 2021.

I am originally from Liverpool and moved to London in 1997 after being accepted at Mountview Theatre school. After graduating I worked as an actress and accomplished voiceover artist for many years. I also have a vast amount customer service experience, working in many West End Theatres, as Cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic and at Claridges hotel in Mayfair.

Zoe has a passion for making strong connections with people and creating lasting memorable experiences.

My role here at Southgate Beaumont is to ensure our residents lives are packed full of enriching and interesting activity. We provide a wide range of both home led and community led activity for all residents as well as personalised and individual hobby and interest focused events. Our programme ranges from cocktail making, to art history talks, exercise sessions as well as fine dining dinner parties catered for by our chefs

I have made lots of lovely new friends at Southgate Beaumont care home and look forward to making many more.

Life at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

The magic of music.

Another glorious afternoon here at Southgate Beaumont, with the brilliant singer Victoria. Always bringing her smiles, beautiful singing and magic into the room. It’s wonderful to see our residents up on their feet and dancing along to her music. Music continues to bring us all together

Pop up shop at Southgate Beaumont.

An opportunity for our residents to enjoy some morning retail therapy, with Debbie’s Pop Up Shop!A shopping experience from the comfort of our own lounge. For those who are less able, we took items into rooms for residents to choose if they wished. We love to shop and looking through the colourful clothes made us happy. You can never have too many clothes!

Celebrating our amazing Volunteers.

Volunteers Week, is a chance for us to celebrate and say thank you, to all our amazing volunteers that help within the home. From our wonderful friends from the local schools, who spend time chatting and socialising with residents, to Volunteers like Mark, who gives up so much of his time, to help things run smoothly. We are so grateful for all the kindness, help and support you give us and our residents are extremely grateful for the extra fun you bring to the home. Thank you

Musical reminiscence and art therapy.

As part of Dementia Awareness week, we were delighted to welcome Jenny Newland into our home.Jenny runs a wonderful memory club each Monday at St Andrews Church in Southgate, and today brought along her fantastic session to Southgate Beaumont. With a fun musical reminiscence quiz, Pictionary, bingo and some lovely prizes. A lively and enjoyable afternoon for all.

We love yoga!

Southgate Beaumont has an amazing Yoga teacher Dai, that visits us at our wonderful home. Dai is here every two weeks, and her chair based yoga and positivity are just what we need. Her classes are a huge hit with our residents.
Its a time to breathe, laugh and keep ourselves moving. Great for the mind, body and soul.
It’s always a fun morning and everyone looks forward to Dai’s huge smile to brighten our day!

Spending time in nature.

A trip out to our local park.We are so very lucky living so close to a number of beautiful parks. Today we took a trip in our mini bus to Grovelands Park, and it was so therapeutic being in nature and taking time to enjoy the tranquility of the water. We all felt so happy and relaxed and enjoyed the sunshine.
