Activities at Pinetree Care Home

Puppy love was definitely in the air!

Our residents were delighted to welcome the beautiful puppies from Lucy’s Pomeranians. Their tiny paws, fluffy coats and adorable personalities brought plenty of smiles and cuddles. They were simply irresistible, even our General Manager, Jane, couldn’t resist stopping for a little puppy cuddle!

There was a wonderful atmosphere at Barchester Pinetree as we came together to celebrate our GOOD CQC rating, a fantastic achievement that reflects the dedication, kindness, and hard work of our entire team.

Our General Manager, Jane, and Deputy Manager, Anjana, were proud to celebrate alongside residents, relatives, friends, visitors, and colleagues. We were also delighted to welcome our Regional Director, Margery, who joined us to mark this special occasion.

A heartfelt thank you to Reverend Steve for visiting and sharing in our celebrations, and to Andrea for her lovely speech and the delicious celebration cake that everyone enjoyed.

This achievement belongs to everyone at Pinetree. Thank you to our incredible staff for their unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding care every day, and to our wonderful residents, their families, friends, and visitors for their continued support and trust.

Here's to celebrating this fantastic milestone together and continuing to make Pinetree a place our residents are proud to call home.

This week we have a full and varied life enrichment programme including: entertainment, Pet Therapy Dog visits, World Food Day, crafts, trip out and Harvest Festival.
Our activities programme is designed to be resident lead with all abilities, likes and needs incorporated.
We aim to provide exceptional interactions and create wonderful memories and lasting friendships.

We were delighted to welcome Donna’s Diddy Darlings and her wonderful therapy ponies for a very special visit.

Their gentle nature and calm presence brought so many smiles, laughter and memorable moments throughout the day. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with the ponies, creating some lovely interactions and experiences that will be remembered fondly.

It was a truly heart-warming visit, and we are so grateful to Donna and her therapy ponies for bringing so much joy to everyone. We look forward to welcoming them back again in the future.

We were delighted to welcome the wonderful Sami from The Activities People to Pinetree. Our residents had an amazing time singing, dancing, and joining in with all the fun. The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of happy memories as everyone enjoyed the entertainment together. It was a fantastic afternoon, and we’re already looking forward to Sami’s next visit!

Our residents from both Pinetree and Derham care home enjoyed a wonderful joint trip to Summer Hills! 

It was lovely to spend time together, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and make some special memories.

Joined by Reclaim Mobility, Pinetree Care Home was delighted to host a dedicated falls prevention workshop aimed at helping older adults stay safe, active and independent.

The session was led by Sam from Reclaim Mobility, who delivered an informative presentation covering the risks associated with falls and the practical steps people can take to reduce them. Falls remain one of the leading causes of accidental injury and death among people aged over 65 in the UK, but many incidents can be prevented through awareness, preparation and simple lifestyle changes.

Throughout the workshop, attendees were given practical advice on a range of important topics, including home safety measures, identifying early risk factors, and exercises designed to improve strength, balance and stability. The session also explored how regular movement and adapting living environments can play a significant role in preventing accidents and maintaining confidence later in life.

Residents, families, carers and members of the wider community all came together for the event, creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. The workshop encouraged open discussion, allowing attendees to share experiences, ask questions and gain valuable knowledge from healthcare and mobility professionals.

Residents sang along with Elvis impersonator David Black, on what would have been Elvis Presley's 91st Birthday if he were still alive. Elvis was born on the 8th of January 1935 and was the King of Rock n Roll.

It was a pleasure to accompany our residents to church this morning. The Archdeacon lead the service, she and the whole St Nicholas team are so welcoming. 

After the service we had lunch of; Shepherds Pie followed by Apple Crumble and Custard, and then a Cheese Board.
