Hi, my name is Michelle, and I am General Manager here at Marple Dale Care Centre. Welcome to our website!
Thank you for taking the time to look further into what Marple Dale Care Centre has to offer to you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life. I have worked for the Healthcare sector for approximately 25 years as a Registered General Nurse, Nurse Manager, Turnaround Manager and a Registered Manager throughout the Manchester & Lancashire Area working alongside a wealth of experienced healthcare professionals.
I love my role and what I do and I am lucky to be supported by a fantastic team that demonstrate a nurturing warm and compassionate approach.
The homes core objective is to promote a high standard of person centred, kind and compassionate care.
Pop in for a cuppa and speak to one of the team, you’re always welcome!
Hi, my name is Sarah and I am the Deputy Manager and Clinical lead here at Marple Dale. My role includes supporting the manager in any way I can and ensuring that we provide the best possible care and meet all the required for our residents. Prior to joining the team in 2019 I have been a sister in acute medicine for many years”
Hi, my name is Kerry and I am the Head of Unit on the nursing/residential floor at Marple Dale. I have been nursing for over 13 years within the care home sector and worked at the home for since 2013. I pride myself on having a real passion for ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered to the residents we care for, and enriching their daily lives by providing person-centered care.
I have been working in the care home sector since 2001. I was an administrator at another Barchester home – Arbour Court – for 2 years, when the home was part of Westminster Healthcare. I then came to Marple Dale as a Senior Administrator before it was owned by Barchester.
Although it is a very busy environment, I do enjoy the challenge of the role. I am here to support the staff and families, mainly in the financial running of the home, and I will always strive to work as hard as I can.
I work very closely with the General Manager and assist wherever I can.
Being part of the Marple Dale family is very rewarding, and I feel lucky to be working in such a beautiful setting.
Hi, my name is Clare Burke and I am the lead activity coordinator here at Marple Dale. I joined the home as an activities coordinator in April 2018, prior to which I was a pre-school manager and have worked with children most of my career. I was attracted to the activities role to share my knowledge and experience in developing the homes life enrichment programme to create meaningful activities to our residents each day.
I love putting a smile on our residents faces. We have so much fun during our activities, I love being creative and thinking outside the box to make our activities as enjoyable as possible.
I joined the administration team in July 2003. I love being part of the team and have many years of experience in administration. I have also earned my NVQ Level 2 & 3. I enjoy meeting the residents and their loved ones.

Hi, my name is Alison and I joined the team at Marple Dale in November 2008 initially as a carer before moving to activities in 2014. In 2018 I became a full time role but returned to the home to activities recently. As one of the homes activities coordinators and having worked here from the age of 17 the home has become my second family. I love my role and looking at new ways to engage with as many of our residents on a daily basis.
Here at Marple Dale we try to do as many different activities as we can, to keep our residents active as much as possible as it is so important to keep active. I love what I do and to know that our residents have so much more enjoyment of being able to do lots of activities and how much of a Varity there is of them.
Hi, my name is Matthew and I am the Head Chef here at Marple Dale. I started here at the home in March 2020 and bring with me over 18-years’ experience as a chef, working in 4 star hotels, care homes, restaurants and also outside catering for events. I am passionate about the delivery of quality food.
Here at Marple Dale we provide a wonderful choice of delicious and wholesome dishes. The food and the dining experience at Marple Dale is recognised as an integral part of the lifestyle here at the home and I am responsible for managing the catering team, ensuring they provide a quality catering service to all our residents, guests and visitors.
