Mallard Court Care Home in Bridlington
Mallard Court provides 24-hour nursing care and personal support to older people, older people with disabilities, older people with sensory loss and older people living with dementia. We also offer respite care and short breaks. Set in its own extensive, wheelchair accessible gardens, located just a mile away from Bridlington town centre and half a mile from beautiful blue flag beaches, the home is sited on a quiet residential estate and is easily accessible by road.
The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
Care and support at Mallard Court is delivered through personalised care planning, a process that begins with assessment, carried out before admission where possible, and completed with the individual concerned, together with relatives. Information is built up on admission and at regular reviews. It covers areas like needs, risks, likes and dislikes, so it provides a basis for areas as diverse as deciding about activities programmes and external contacts, looking at any rehabilitative medical needs and discussions with our chef about diet (he will tailor meal choices to the individual). Regular reviews and updates with the individual, relatives, our team and any relevant health professional are an important element of the system.
We welcome visitors and we’d love to show you round.

Hi, my name is Dianne, and I am the General Manager here at Mallard Court. Welcome to our website!
I qualified as an RGN in 1988 and started my nursing career as both a staff nurse and a ward sister. I joined the private sector in 1993 and have managed domiciliary care and care homes across the north of England in both a general manager and regional manager capacity.
I love being a part of Barchester's corporate and professional world, where quality matters, and staff work their hardest to deliver high quality care to those they support.Get in touch Meet my team
