Activities at Lynde House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators get a real buzz off their work here as enthusiasm is essential for the role. We decorate and celebrate for all the big annual events, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mothering Sunday and much more. There are also regular fixtures in our activities programme, including bingo, a sherry morning and quizzes, that are always well-attended. There's also an International Day that we hold to celebrate the wonderful ethnic diversity of our staff, where members of our team and their families give up their time to showcase their national costumes, dances and songs. Of course, we also have activities and services tailored to those residents who prefer the quiet life, such manicures or simply a friendly chat and a cup of tea. We always do our best to learn about residents' hobbies and interests and try to arrange our activities programme around their individual likes and dislikes.

Our Puppy Millie

We would like to introduce you to Milly, the baby Golden Retriever. Milly hopefully will be Lynde House's very own 'PAT' dog.

Pets As Therapy (PAT) is a national charity that enhances the health and wellbeing of thousands of people in Care Homes across the UK.

Millie is the newest addition to our General Manager's Alison's Macintosh, she is just ten and a half weeks old and today came to Lynde House to meet Molly, one of our residents who has previously owned golden retrievers and some of our other dog loving residents.

She is just lovely.

The Year of the Rabbit

We welcomed in the Year of the Rabbit with a day of celebrations and activities. The Chinese New Year is China’s most important festival that celebrated the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar calendar. We all enjoyed a delicious Chinese New Years Lunch, some music from Greater China, and had a discussion about the animals associated with the Chinese zodiac. It was a fun day!

Carols at St Stephens

Thank you to St Stephens Church - East Twickenham who last night invited both residents and staff to their amazing carol concert.

As usual it was amazing and a very good time was had by all.

Delivering Christmas cheer to our Fantastic Community

Lynde House's General Manager Alison Mcintosh and members of our team visited some of Lynde House's professional contacts within our great community to deliver some 'Christmas Cheer' from staff and residents here at Lynde House.

One our many visits was to the fantastic East Twickenham Neighbours Association, a vibrant and welcoming community centre that seems to offer something for everyone who is in need and the amazing Richmond Good Neighbours who have been providing support to Richmond residents for over thirty years.

What an amazing community we live in.
