Activities at Lynde House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators get a real buzz off their work here as enthusiasm is essential for the role. We decorate and celebrate for all the big annual events, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mothering Sunday and much more. There are also regular fixtures in our activities programme, including bingo, a sherry morning and quizzes, that are always well-attended. There's also an International Day that we hold to celebrate the wonderful ethnic diversity of our staff, where members of our team and their families give up their time to showcase their national costumes, dances and songs. Of course, we also have activities and services tailored to those residents who prefer the quiet life, such manicures or simply a friendly chat and a cup of tea. We always do our best to learn about residents' hobbies and interests and try to arrange our activities programme around their individual likes and dislikes.

All residents got into Valentine's mood with a special lunch, prepared for the occasion. Everyone enjoyed the lunch, including the romantic music, bubbly, chocolate and romance.

Happy Birthday

Team members and residents at Lynde House hosted a special birthday celebration. A gentleman from the home celebrated his 103rd birthday at the home in style, with chocolate cake and gifts.

Nursing Associates at Lynde House

We were delighted to welcome our third intake of nursing associates to Lynde House today from South Bank University in association with the Chelsea and Westminster foundation trust. Both will be with us for six weeks.

We have received great feedback from these students as to how stimulating they find the home in terms of their learning and experience of caring for older people. Residents enjoy the opportunity to engage with these students and pass on some of their wise knowledge and experiences.

Chinese New Year

Lynde House residents enjoyed a Chinese-themed menu for lunch, but we managed to squeeze in a bit of haggis and a tot of Whisky, since it was also Burns Night!

Get Together Afternoon

Each Tuesday the residents and hospitality staff enjoy a get together. They have done the most amazing things over the past year, from cake decoration and pancake making to wine and cocktail tasting... not together!
