Meet the Highview House Care Home team
From nurses and carers to chefs and housekeepers, staff in our home are here to deliver high quality care and services to those we support. Check below to meet some of the friendly faces you are likely to see when visiting our home:
Hi, my name is Elsbeth, and I am the General Manager here at Highview House. Welcome to our website!
I qualified as a nurse in 1993 and have always worked within the private sector, living and working in Newcastle upon Tyne. I worked for a local, family run nursing care company before Barchester, making my way through their career ladder during my time there.
In 2013 my family and I made a quality of life decision to move away from life in the city to Inverness, where I have worked within the locality as a care home manager ever since.
I enjoy making a positive difference in people’s lives. My appointment at Highview will bring me into contact with a new group of people and it is my hope that I can touch their lives in a productive and meaningful way.
My greatest achievement to date has to be being nationally acknowledged as the 'Nurse of the Year' in 2015 for the excellent environment and care given to people living with dementia in my care home. I still find it very difficult to believe that a care home manager from Inverness was recognised for just doing her job.
Hi, my name is Jamie Taylor, and I joined the team at Highview House in October 2018 as the clinical lead nurse for the top floor. I was appointed Deputy Home Manager in August 2021. My role is to lead the provision of care and provide managerial support and guidance throughout.
Hi, my name is Fergal and I have been Head of Unit here at Highview since October 2019. I always try and go that extra mile with our residents and their relatives, I maintain regular contact with families to ensure that we are delivering the highest level of care and excellent service at all times.
I look forward to meeting you when you visit our home.
Hi, my name is Mary-Ann, I joined Barchester in November 2018 and became Head of Unit in June 2019. I strive to improve the quality of life for our Residents, giving them a great lived experience and plenty of comfort.
I am proud to pass on my skills and knowledge and work alongside the team to deliver the highest quality of care to our Residents. I am always here for the relatives and to help support them in any way I can.
Lena trained at the University of Stirling (Highland Campus) and qualified as a registered nurse in 2003. She joined the team at Highview House in November 2004 and is now Head of Unit on the ground floor.
Lena enjoys supporting the team that she works with and ensures that a high standard of care is delivered to residents at all times.
Hi, my name is Susan. I am Head Chef here at Highview. I have been part of the time since 2016. Myself and the team cater for residents' individual dietary needs and ensure that our seasonal home cooked menus offer choice, nutrition and quality. All meals are prepared with fresh, seasonal produce.
As Head Chef I am responsible for ensuring that our dining rooms are consistently well-presented and maintained to an exemplary standard and our Residents always have a positive dining experience.
Hi, my name is Mairi and I joined Barchester in 2008 and became Head of Maintenance here at Highview in 2014. Maintenance is paramount when it comes to our residents, relatives and colleagues, and my role is to keep the home environment to the highest standards possible, ultimately creating a safe and warm place for our residents to live and my colleagues to work.
I also manage and deal with contractors, keeping records up-to-date for our audits. I am the home's health and safety champion.
Hi, my name is Lisa and I am one of the homes activity coordinators here at Highview. I joined the team in September 2019 as Head of Housekeeping and have transferred over to activities in October 2020.
I am originally from Lancashire and moved to the Highlands in December 2015 so that my husband and I could give our youngest a better quality of life. I have a friendly, outgoing personality and love engaging with the residents. I cannot wait to bring even more fun and laughter into the home and I am looking forward to enriching the residents lives.
