Meet the team
From nurses and carers to chefs and housekeepers, staff in our home are here to deliver high quality care and services to those we support. Check below to meet some of the friendly faces you are likely to see when visiting our home:
Hi, my name is Elsbeth, and I am the General Manager here at Highview House. Welcome to our website!
I qualified as a nurse in 1993 and have always worked within the private sector, living and working in Newcastle upon Tyne. I worked for a local, family run nursing care company before Barchester, making my way through their career ladder during my time there.
In 2013 my family and I made a quality of life decision to move away from life in the city to Inverness, where I have worked within the locality as a care home manager ever since.
I enjoy making a positive difference in people’s lives. My appointment at Highview will bring me into contact with a new group of people and it is my hope that I can touch their lives in a productive and meaningful way.
My greatest achievement to date has to be being nationally acknowledged as the 'Nurse of the Year' in 2015 for the excellent environment and care given to people living with dementia in my care home. I still find it very difficult to believe that a care home manager from Inverness was recognised for just doing her job.
Hi, my name is Michael, and I am the deputy manager here at Highview.
Lena trained at the University of Stirling (Highland Campus) and qualified as a registered nurse in 2003. She joined the team at Highview House in November 2004 and is now Head of Unit on the ground floor.
Lena enjoys supporting the team that she works with and ensures that a high standard of care is delivered to residents at all times.
Hi, my name is Jamie Taylor, and I joined the team at Highview House in October 2018 as the clinical lead nurse for the top floor. My role is to lead the provision of care on the upper floor of the home and provide managerial support and guidance throughout.
Hello my name is Louisa and I am one of three activity coordinators here at Highview, I have been in post since January 2016. Prior to taking the post here I held a similar role for five years, but in a smaller, privately owned nursing home.
I have a BA in ‘Health & Welfare’ which I completed on-line through the UHI while my son was in primary school. We live on the Black Isle with our two dogs. Our aim here at Highview is to provide a stimulating and relevant programme of activities that reflects the interests and aspirations of our residents. We are always looking for ideas and inspiration, working closely with the nursing and care teams, residents and their loved ones to ensure that our activities provision is relevant, and of benefit to our residents. Please do not hesitate to contact a member of the activity team if you would like further information or support in enabling your loved one to achieve their full potential.
Kay is the heart of the home and has been with us for over 5 years. She will be the first person you see when coming in the home or the first when you call. She will be happy to direct you to where you need to go, assist you with any queries or direct you to the right individual.
