Activities at Highfield Care Home

What a fabulous day we had at Highfield Care Home! We were thrilled to welcome the amazing Diva Chanel, who brought so much joy, laughter, and sparkle to our Pride celebration. Her performance had us all clapping, singing, and laughing from start to finish. It was a truly uplifting afternoon, and it meant so much to celebrate Pride together in such a fun and inclusive way. We’re still smiling!

We had such a lovely time visiting Digby’s Café at Sherburn Aero Club! Sitting by the window with a hot cup of coffee and watching the planes take off and land was so relaxing. It was great to get out in the fresh air, enjoy a change of scenery, and have a good chat with friends. We’re already looking forward to our next trip!

We had such a lovely time at Highfield Care Home when local vocalist Holly Taymar Bilton came to perform for us! Her beautiful voice had us all singing along, clapping, and smiling from ear to ear. It was a joyful afternoon full of music, laughter, and great company – we can’t wait to have her back again!

Residents at Highfield Care Home have been having great fun in the kitchen during their recent baking sessions. From mixing ingredients to decorating sweet treats, there’s been plenty of laughter, delicious smells, and proud smiles all around. Baking is a much-loved activity that brings everyone together, sparks happy memories, and ends with the best reward of all—enjoying their tasty creations!

Residents were soaking up the sunshine and enjoying a fun-filled day at Tadcaster Golf Club. With laughter in the air and friendly competition, it’s the perfect spot for relaxing, socializing, and making the most of the beautiful surroundings.

Our green-fingered residents have truly been shining lately! From creating beautiful flower arrangements to planting bulbs that will soon bloom, there’s always something wonderful happening in our gardens. We’ve even been growing our own tomato plants, which are thriving thanks to their care and attention. It’s been so heartwarming to watch everyone get their hands dirty and take pride in watching their plants grow. Gardening has become a favorite activity, and it’s been such a joy seeing the gardens come to life with color —just like the smiles on our residents' faces!

We had such a blast at our recent silent disco here at Highfield! It was so much fun seeing both residents and staff get into the groove, each dancing to their own tunes with wireless headphones. The smiles and laughter were contagious as everyone moved to the music, and it was wonderful to see how engaged and happy everyone was. It really brought us all together, and it was such a special moment for both residents and staff to enjoy music, movement, and fun as one big happy family!

We recently celebrated our one-year anniversary here at Highfield Care Home, and what an amazing day it was! We had so much fun with a Monte Carlo-themed event, complete with games that everyone loved. The highlight of the celebration was the incredible Miss Marina Mae, who serenaded us with her beautiful vocals, bringing a touch of class and joy to the day. We spent the afternoon soaking up the sun in the gardens, laughing, chatting, and enjoying each other’s company. It was such a special day, filled with smiles and great memories, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to mark this wonderful milestone!
