Our Team

Paula Colman
Hi, my name is Paula, and I am proud to be the General Manager here at Hickathrift. Welcome to our website!
I joined the home in 2015. My background is in nursing and I have vast knowledge and experience working with the elderly. After applying for a senior position, I was promoted to Head of Community in April 2016, then to Deputy Manager in July 2018. I became the Acting General Manager in November 2019, and General Manager in September 2020.
One thing I feel is really important is offering residents a lot of personal choice; I feel that, as Hickathrift House is their home, they have the right to choose what goes on here.
I am hands-on in my role and I like to spend as much time as possible with the people I care for. I also really enjoy getting to know the residents' families and provide them with support when they need it.
I look forward to meeting anyone who visits our home.
