"My husband has been at Barchester Forest Hill Care Home since 1st November 2023. We had issues with his previous care home. My husband has settled really well and i feel he is being treated with dignity and care. I can see an improvement with his mood. His Parkinson's and dementia are progressing. The staff listen to my concerns regarding weight loss. He has been seen by the doctor within a few days. I feel so much happier knowing he is being cared for and when I phone I am always reassured."

"My beautiful mum was admitted to this wonderful care home with terminal lung cancer earlier this week. The level of care and kindness from every single member of staff is absolutely amazing. My mum won't be here for much longer but I am finding comfort knowing she is comfortable and in no pain. I recommend this lovely home for anyone who is looking for somewhere to look after themselves or a loved one. Thank you so much."

"Very pleased with the care my father has and is still receiving. After a few weeks in hospital, on his return to Forest Hill Care Home, all the staff have gone above and beyond to make sure his recovery is smooth and stressless for not only him but the family as well. You're always greeted with happy faces from all the staff and they always have time for a chat and an update on Dad's condition. His bedroom and bathroom are always spotless as is the rest of the home. Just waiting for his health to improve so he can make use of the beautiful outside area and the many activities and day trips offered to the residents."

"I spent two hours with my mum, yesterday and left really happy. Even though the staff were extremely busy they couldn't have done enough for her, to make sure that she was comfortable and treated with great care. She looked lovely. Mum had all her best clothes on and was sitting in a brilliant all-singing, dancing chair. I supported my mum in eating her Christmas dinner, which looked and smelled fantastic. She ate loads. I just want to let everyone know that Mum is treated with genuine kindness by the staff who engage with her whenever possible even in Polish at times. Thank you from us."

"My father has been in Barchester Forest Hill Care Home since 23/12/2020 and I am pleased to say that I am very impressed with the care and support that he receives. From the care staff to the nurses and even the admin staff they are amazing. He has been known to be aggressive in personal care and also very vocal but the patience shown is remarkable. I often apologise for his behaviour but they say there is no need to as it's his illness, not his fault. The contact with us is very good with regard to changes in medication, any falls he has, witnessed or unwitnessed. They always make us feel welcome when we visit Dad. Dad is always clean and respectable and I cannot do anything but sing the praises of the staff at Forest Hill."

"Excellent care during illness. Care taken to hospital. All staff the full-time staff and management are excellent, very efficient and kind. Complaints were rectified quickly with agency staff. Good atmosphere in the lounge and excellent facilities for Jubilee Day, all the staff took part and it was most enjoyable for residents and families."

"As you are aware, Mum has been with you for over sixteen years. During this time she has had her ups and downs but I can honestly say you have always been there for her. "My mum has now been a resident at Barchester Forest Hill for over sixteen years. She has always been treated with compassion by all the staff. She is happy in Forest Hill and considers it "home", everyone makes an effort to communicate with her with a smile and kind words. For myself, I feel secure in the knowledge I can call at any time to get an update on how she is feeling and also get to speak to her over the phone, and by Skype or WhatsApp. I am also very happy that I can now see her again. The home has made an amazing achievement keeping Covid so low."

"My husband has been here for 13 months now. Due to COVID visiting was not allowed. I have now had a bedroom visit twice now. The staff are very caring and friendly. They made my visit very satisfying. My husband is being very well cared for which makes me very happy and content."

"My husband was admitted to Forest Hill a day before the big lockdown in March 2020. It could not have been a worse time, but the home, made every attempt to keep me and my family informed by telephone and email. Visiting, as soon as it was allowed, was organised and as frequent as possible. I like the fact that a carer accompanied him as he has trouble hearing and two meters. Sadly my husband has recently passed away, and this was very sensitively handled by the staff."

"My wife was in several previous homes, but none even came close to the care and attention provided by Forest Hill and its staff. Even with the Covid restrictions, they have overcome adversity and provided a safe environment for their residents."

My father has been living in Forest Hill since October 2016. He has advanced dementia, has had aggressive behaviour, including non-compliance with care and intervention until quite recently. He is 88 years old today, and nearing the end of his life. I have managed 4 care homes with nursing.

We chose Forest Hill when dad's status changed from residential to nursing needs. I visited several 'recommended' care homes in Sheffield; they were appalling, with clear evidence of lack of training and disinterest from the staff. 

Forest Hill has earned the very well deserved 'outstanding' status from CQC. The leadership is outstanding! The care given to dad is outstanding and the care and support given to us as a family is outstanding. 

Mum still lives at home. We are a very small family; I have 1 brother, and mum has had many episodes of acute ill health, resulting in hospitalisation (in Sheffield) for prolonged periods many times – the staff at Forest Hill always ask how mum is, and understand it is difficult for her to visit frequently. 

I supervise geographically a very large area, geographically speaking, making it difficult to visit often. Katie (Nurse in Charge) is exceptionally kind and often rings me just to let me know Dad is okay.

"Forest Hill Care Home is a well-run facility, credit goes to all the people who work there. The staff and management are caring, loving and helpful. They are dedicated to providing residents with the respect they all deserve. The meals provided are of an excellent standard with plenty of choices. Forest Hill is a very clean, welcoming care home. Both my mum and my brother are residents at Forest Hill, they receive love and care from all who work there. I speak for all my family and say that we wouldn't want Mum or our brother to be in any other place."

"'Barchester Forest Hill Care Home' has a caring, loving and helpful staff, nurses, carers, and management. They are dedicated to providing residents the respect they all deserve. The resident's rooms are of a very good size and all with en-suite facilities and nice furnishings. The meals provided are of an excellent standard with plenty of choices. 'Barchester Forest Hill Care Home' is a very clean, welcoming care home. I speak for all my family and say that we wouldn't want Mum to be in any other place."
