"To start off, all of the staff - office, cleaners, kitchen and of course - the carers, are all fantastic. From the day I first visited Fordmill, they all were keen to make myself & my friend (resident) feel welcome. I dont think anything was a problem for them. Thank you!"

"We wanted mum to come into this nursing home as it had an excellent reputation and we have not regretted it for a single second. The care our mum has received is second to none. All the staff, no matter at what level, are outstanding always smiling and cheerful. Nothing is too much trouble. Very attentive to our mums needs. Mum has really enjoyed the activities she has been able to attend and we have been impressed with what they have to offer, something for everyone. Mums highlight was the Scottish dancers, bringing back happy memories. The choice of meals and the wide variety of food to choose from is excellent. The peace of mind having 24/7 care given to our mum, by the caring management and staff, helps us tremendously"

"My dad was in Fordmill from April 2025 until October 2025 when he passed. The home looked after my father wonderfully. Every member of staff were great. He was treated with compassion & respect until the end. There is always some good activities to join in & food is excellent. All care homes should be like this."

Attended care home to vaccinate with NHS TAYSIDE. Team were excellent and very helpful. Lisa was especially helpful and knew the residents well. Thanks so much. We look forward to returning.

"My experience of Fordmill care home is that the staff are fantastic and very approachable. They have been very accommodating with my Mums needs. The staff in Fordmill Montrose are a fabulous team. Their profesionalism is second to none. I am truely thankful, my husband became a resident in this nursing home. "First class. The staff in their entirety were caring and attentive. Food and amenities were excellent, medical attention was brilliant, the team provided entertainment and stimulation on a daily basis. Compassion, dignity and respect at the end. When it's my time, if I could afford it I'd want to go there too!"

"My cousin spent his final year in Fordmill, suffering from a terminal illness. He was so well cared for, that his life expectancy, initially 6 weeks, was extended by a year. He was very content, despite being bedridden, due to the excellant care and attention given by all staff members. He especially enjoyed the food, and we enjoyed the cakes with our cuppa on our visits. It gave us peace of mind that he was happy there."

"About 14 years ago my mother passed away here after 2 or 3 happy years here, more recently my uncle passed away after approximately 18months as a resident, as a family we were able to spend more quality time with them both and not have to worry about their day to day stuff when they were at home, the care both were given was excellent. Also 2 of my elderly neighbours have lived here, one recently passed and my other neighbour is loving it, highly recommend,"

"My mother was admitted with stage four cancer, dementia and diabetes. As a family we knew she did not have much good days left ahead of her. However the staff - to a man - looked after both my mother and father - who visited every day, with love and dignity. As a family we are truly grateful for everything you dad to make mum's final days comfortable and enjoyable as they could be."

"Our father passed away 2 weeks ago, having spent the last 5 years as a resident of Fordmill, I very much doubt if we would have had him with us that long, had it not been for the wonderful care provided by the staff and management. They literally became his second family with their compassion, skilled work and great personalities. He was always very contented when we visited, and never once told us that he was unhappy with his situation, or any member of the team. Barchester are truly fortunate to have a care home like this within their organisation."

"We were a family with no experience of a Care Home. From the moment we were met in the foyer in March 2024, with our mum, the staff have gone above and beyond to make her and the residents happy and well cared for. From Management to catering and cleaning, not forgetting the professional nurses, they are unsung heroes. The entertainment team, enjoy themselves too with entertainment which is both relevant and fun. Mum loved the church services and visits from schools, nursery schools, dancers etc. Really big thanks."

"My wife is unable to walk or stand (advanced MS) so "activities" are not relevant. She is a bit 'fussy' about food and is gluten intolerant. However, the home went to great lengths to provide her with a choice at each meal. This was a 3 week respite care that was mostly paid for by my local council, cannot comment on value for money."

"Really happy with the care mum received whilst staying at Fordmill Care Home. The home was immaculate, very welcoming and staff were always extremely helpful. Mum is a very picky eater and follows a gluten free diet. The kitchen staff were always extremely helpful in offering alternative meals to suit mums taste and dietary requirements. Mum had a lovely warm, clean room with her own TV. Mum has said that the staff were brilliant."

"Probably the best old folks home I have ever seen, the staff are absolutely lovely, they cannot do enough from my father. And the food is amazing. And the manager of the old folks home is a star. Highly rated. Honestly, cannot pick one bad thing about it. Only one word describes this place, amazing."
