Activities at Falmouth Court Care Home

We are all getting very festive with Elf Day and Christmas Jumper day here at Falmouth Court.

Everyone donned their gay apparel to celebrate both Elf Day raising funds for Alzheimer's Society and Christmas Jumper Day raising funds for Save the Children. Everyone has a super time and we had some fun games with the residents too.

We had a fantastic cheese and wine quiz evening last week here at Falmouth Court. Bob our Head of maintenance produced a spectacular quiz for our residents their families and the local community. It was lovely to have so many come join us. There was lots of delicious cheese and nibbles with some carefully selected wines from Majestic Wine for everyone to enjoy too.

Thank you to everyone who came along to our Christmas Fayre at the weekend. It was a huge success with lots of our local community coming to do their Christmas shopping.

We had some wonderful stalls with lots to choose from from fantastic artwork to lovely jewelry and everything in-between. Of course a fabulous cake stall too along with mulled wine!

Thank you also to The Creature Feature Show Community Interest Company who helped arrange the day, we managed to raise £96 in the tombola which was donated to their pet food bank.

A huge well done to Sharon Pond one of our Community Leads here at Falmouth Court.

Sharon successfully completed her level 5 assistant practitioner in health and social care. We celebrated her graduation and continuing professional development successes.

Haley and Catalin our General Manager and Deputy Manager went along to watch Sharon Graduate in Truro. At Barchester, career progression is a vital part of the organisation and we actively look for colleagues to fulfil their potential.

We had a lovely afternoon switching on our Christmas Lights here at Falmouth Court. We had a special guest Jayne Kirkham for Truro and Falmouth come along to join us for the event and switch on the lights. Our residents had a lovely time chatting with Jayne and toasting the start of the Christmas Festivities with a glass of prosecco.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Even if it's just a simple afternoon of board games. Our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
