Activities at Epsom Beaumont Care Home

At Epsom Beaumont, the daily activities always aim to be enjoyable for all. Our Activities Coordinator is constantly working to mentally and physically stimulate each resident and ensuring that our programme is define moulded to the wants and needs of those we support. We host weekly outings to many local coffee shops, and also some bigger trips to Brighton and the Brooklands Museum. Our outings tend to be a new and exciting experience for residents, but are sometimes repeated for those who could not make the trip the first time. The activity schedule changes weekly, but there are some regularities, such as our crossword and bar nights, where families are invited to join their loved ones for a social evening. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home and we are proud to say we have a dedicated Activities Coordinator who is supported by all of the care team to really make it successful. We have received excellent feedback from residents and relatives, which only makes our bond with them stronger.

Louisa Capaldi

Activities Coordinator

I always said when I started working I wanted to have a rewarding job that puts a smile on people’s faces and makes their day just that little bit brighter! I started working in the care sector as a hospitality Assistant, and then became a carer and then the activities coordinator. I really enjoy getting the residents up and moving, and getting active. I enjoy learning new things about the residents and doing meaningful activities with them that they enjoy and benefit from.

Life at Epsom Beaumont Care Home

Ice Cream Van Visit

This was the perfect opportunity to give all our team members a small token of appreciation and to show how valued everyone is.

Team members at Barchester Healthcare Epsom Beaumont recently received creative 'thank you' gifts as part of Carers Week 2023. Carers week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring. It is brought to life by thousands of individuals and organisations who come together to organise activities and events throughout the UK, drawing attention to just how important caring is. To celebrate carers week we have planned an array of events to say thank you, today was a surprise ice cream van that showed up for all our team to enjoy an ice cream while enjoying the sun.

Trip to Chessington World of Adventures

Residents and staff had a brilliant time visiting Chessington World Of Adventures. They enjoyed visiting the zoo, sealife, the attractions and the theme park. Everyone had a Fantastic day out. Madge, resident at Epsom Beaumont Care Home said: “We have all had the most wonderful time visiting Chessington World of Adventures. It is so lovely to be able to visit places like this again and see all of the animals in the zoo and sea life centre. I especially liked the theme park! I even went on a few of the rides, what an amazing time we all had.”

Intergenerational Mum&Baby Group with Baby Boppers by Bella & Boo

We hosted an intergenerational Baby Boppers class with Baby Boppers by Bella&Boo for Mums, Dads and their babies. The class which took place on Thursday 11th May welcomed the group of Mums and their babies who live locally as well as carers with babies to enjoy music, games and activities with residents at the home. The Baby Boppers group also enjoyed a sing along with residents to their favourite songs such as 5 little ducks, wheels on the bus and Humpty Dumpty. Followed by everyone enjoying cups of tea, cakes and chats together, we all had a lovely time and look forward to welcoming the class back very soon.

Nail Painting with the students from Rosebery School

The lovely students from Rosebery school have been coming to Epsom Beaumont Care Home to paint the residents nails and have chats. The residents really enjoyed the relaxing pamper afternoon and enjoyed getting to know the students, while enjoying having a relaxing hand massage.

Residents go to PRYZM Nightclub

Residents and staff enjoyed going to PRYZM Nightclub in Kingston. The aim of the night was to have a little fun with the idea of a standard disco, as well as having a positive impact on residents by triggering music memories from their pasts. The club was lit up with glowsticks and disco lights and, after dressing up in wigs and colourful clothing. Residents danced the night away to tunes which includes some modern songs as well as disco classics and hits from the 1950s and 60s.

The day the farm came to Epsom Beaumont

We were pleasantly surprised to see animals such as Piglets, goats and rabbits roaming around our garden as Browells Wood farm paid a visit.
