Activities at Edingley Lodge Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I'm Phoebe, I am the Activities Coordinator at Edingley Lodge. My role is all about creating engaging and stimulating activities for our residents, ensuring they have fun, stay active, and feel connected. I'm a people person at heart, and I love getting to know everyone. 

Whether organising arts and crafts sessions, days out, or individual time, I aim to provide fulfilling experiences that brighten our residents day.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

ConneX Celebration

As part of Barchester's digital transformation, Edingley Lodge went live today with our new Customer Relationship Management Sysytem - ConneX. Here at Edingley Lodge we take pride in delivering excellent customer service in every area of our home. To further enhance the experience for our potential residents and their families, our new Customer Relationship Management system will ensure a smooth transition from the very first phone call to admission. We had a lovely celebration with delicious cakes made by our talented chef Marta

Burns Night

Residents and staff enjoyed celebrating Burns night, To honour the Scottish poet, Robert Burns we immersed ourselves in poetry and Ceilidh and of course gave the time-honoured address to the 'Great chieftain O' the pudding race' -the haggis, We celebrated Burns night in true Scottish style here at Edingley Lodge. We welcomed back the Newark Scottish dancers who performed some brilliant traditional Scottish dancing, We also were joined by the talented bagpiper Michael Gordon who performed some well-known songs on the bagpipes,

Elvis Presley's Birthday

It was all rockin n rollin at Edingley Lodge as we enjoyed entertainment from singer Russell Weaver to celebrate what would have been the king of Rock n rolls 90th birthday, It’s estimated Elvis sold over one billion records worldwide, so we enjoyed a day of music, fun and dancing in his honour and found out some interesting facts about him too.

Christmas Party

Residents and staff enjoyed a fantastic Christmas party, with music, fun and games, Everyone was dancing and having a great time. staff all looked amazing in their fancy dress Christmas outfits, and the catwalk was a hit with our residents, Thank you to our wonderful chef &  kitchen team for putting on a delicious spread for everyone to enjoy, Gifts we're given, jokes were shared, It was such a lovely afternoon, one to remember

A Merry Christmas At Edingley Lodge

Residents, staff and loved ones had a lovely Christmas,  Quality time spent together, Residents had a visit from our very own Santa delivering gifts around the home, Our kitchen staff put on a lovely festive spread.It was a lovely day enjoyed by all. Christmas is a Christian festival that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe was the son of God. For most people, it takes place every year on 25 December – the day that the Roman Catholic Church chose to mark Jesus' birthday.

School Christmas carols

Residents were so excited to welcome children from Halam CofE Primary School to sing some beautiful Christmas carols for our residents, they were amazing , residents love having children in the home, they always bring joy and happiness, 

The birth of Jesus has long been celebrated in song, and Christmas carols are so well loved now that they're at the very heart of seasonal tradition.
