"I love visiting the home, you are always made welcome, cuppa tea and lunch when you require it and ordered from the receptionist. I visit my friend. I have recommended another person that I look after to visit the home for respite which at present, she is here. The staff are always helpful. The resident loves it here, might stay again. Plenty of activities for the residents to take part in and trips out on the minibus. I recommend Barchester Cubbington Mill Care Home."

"I normally visit on Wednesdays and go to the restaurant for lunch. I always enjoy the meal, and I am very pleased with the welcome and attention from the friendly staff. I also note that the patients are treated with thorough care and kindness."

"Mum was at Barchester Cubbington Mill Care Home for ten months. From our initial contact with the staff to organise Mum moving in until we brought her home last week, we, as a family, have been so delighted with their levels of care. Mum has been looked after so well and with kindness and patience, and she has felt safe and well taken care of. The activities the coordinator organises are brilliant, the manager is so proactive about new ideas for the residents and staff and local community and the member of staff at reception is one of a kind, what a wonderful lady she is and the happiest person I’ve ever met! The nursing team are professional but also compassionate, every single member of the Cubbington Mill team is an absolute angel, and I mean every single member of the team! If Mum ever needed care again, we would have no hesitation to take her back, every family member of a resident becomes a member of the Cubbington Mill family. We were so lucky to have found Cubbington Mill."

"My wife is in the more advanced stages of Parkinson's disease and originally she entered Barchester Cubbington Mill Care Home for two weeks of respite care. Her Parkinson's symptoms caused her period of respite to be extended and is now to become a permanent resident. I could not have wished for my wife to be in a better place. I am confident that she will be well cared for and in a very safe place where she will be well looked after by a dedicated and committed staff. Her fellow residents have already accepted her into the 'communal family'."

"A huge thank you to the manager and all the staff at Cubbington Mill Care Home for looking after my dad for a respite care stay. Without you, Dad would not have been able to attend our wedding and he has not stopped talking about how friendly and caring all the staff were. We really appreciate the clear communications leading up to the day which meant we did not have to worry about whether Dad would be ok. Knowing that Dad was being looked after so well meant that all of the family could also enjoy the weekend without worrying. We genuinely can’t thank you enough and could not rate you all more highly. "His initial assessment at home, the transport provided by the home and his first day and night have been extremely positive. The home has a genuinely warm and caring feel. "I came here in an emergency when part of my home was flooded due to a burst water pipe, I have been welcomed very warmly by all of the staff and residents also. I have every help that I need but enough freedom and facilities that I feel I am staying in a very special hotel. I will always be grateful for the comfort and friendliness that I have had in this difficult time, especially as I was living on my own having been widowed earlier this year."

"We cannot speak highly enough of Cubbington Mill and the wonderful team. My mother has been there for the last two weeks on respite care and is really happy. So much so, that we have just extended her stay by another two weeks to complete her recovery. The staff are utterly wonderful, so kind and caring, and nothing is too much trouble. The quality of food is excellent, offering a good choice of nutritious and very tasty homemade dishes - all beautifully presented. My mother is also making the most of their activities programme and is never lost for company or something to do. The whole atmosphere at the Mill is so warm and welcoming, making you feel at home the minute you walk through the door. The only minor criticism we have is her room is a little small, but even so, we all agree that Cubbington Mill is undoubtedly the best care home our family has ever used. Congratulations and a big thank you."

"Cubbington Mill Care Home has a welcoming approach with well-maintained front of the home gardens. The Interior reception room together with the residents' lounge and dining room tastefully decorated. No fault with reception staff and a warm welcome when visiting. Management and care staff always appear approachable and professional. We have no complaints with this care home."

"The staff are very caring, and there is always a friendly greeting to visitors. The activities coordinators do a fantastic job of encouraging residents to be involved physically and with their minds. Personal tastes in food are taken care of, and the menus always look delicious. The rooms and general areas are kept clean and fresh. Having nurses on site gives peace of mind that residents’ health is under constant review. The buildings and grounds are well maintained and cared for. The rooms are a reasonable size, but it would be nice if they had a little more space. Contrary to expectations, my mother is very content to be being looked after there."

I was made very welcome by all the staff who knew me and by those new to the home since my husband died. I was warmly treated and offered coffee, and was pleased to chat with the staff. "After a poor experience of respite for mum, we were obviously concerned about her going anywhere, but we were unable to continue caring for mum at home, so after a show around decided on Cubbington Mill. We are very pleased with all aspects of care, cleanliness, activities and catering. The staff are very good with mum and she is getting to know them and becoming familiar with her new surroundings. It was initially difficult but we are coming into our 4th week and couldn't be more pleased. Thank you, Cubbington Mill."

"My dad was admitted to Cubbington Mill at the end of March, having been assessed elsewhere following a stroke. From the second my dad arrived he has been treated so well. The staff from the lovely lady on reception to the management team have gone out of their way to help my dad and his family adjust to what is obviously traumatic for us all. I was concerned as the home where he was staying prior was not nice at all. I needn’t have been, Cubbington Mill is top notch. Compassion and empathy ouse from every member of staff who have given me a shoulder to cry on when things have got on top of me and helped us with the difficult transition to what is now our new way of life. The rooms and garden are beautiful, clean and welcoming. I have been fortunate to spend time with some of the other guests who echo what I have seen. It’s like being amongst a loving family. I would highly recommend this care home above any others that I have visited in Warwickshire."

"My mother suffered a stroke and was transferred to Cubbington Mill for the last few weeks of her life. I had checked all the homes in the area and was most impressed by the standard of the property, which is excellent, and the way that I could relate to the staff. Her care was excellent. Despite being in end of life, every time we visited she had been dressed and had her hair combed, the room was spotless and if you check the charts and documentation absolutely everything was recorded in terms of her care. They allowed us to visit whenever we wanted. They kept us fully informed on her condition and we had plenty of notice of the end so that my father was able to be by her side. I have nothing but praise for this home. We didn't get the opportunity to use many of the facilities, but they looked excellent. I often saw staff playing and spending time with residents. Whenever we were there, we were offered food and refreshment - nothing was too much trouble. Excellent all around."

"Mum is well cared for and looked after at Cubbington Mill. She was struggling at home on her own, and moving to Cubbington has given her a better standard of living and dignity. She enjoys all the activities she takes part in, and especially enjoyed a recent 90th Birthday party held for her. Lots of singing! Her family are also comforted and reassured that she is being well looked after and with the best of facilities, nursing and care staff."

"I have been very impressed with the level of care at Cubbington Mill. Also, I have found almost all staff unfailing helpful, cheerful and friendly. Communication is good and I am always able to speak to a nurse about anything concerning my husbands' condition and needs. The only two issues I had were at a time when I was not informed of the results of some hospital visits (over a year ago), this is not the case now. Items being put out of reach when my husband could not walk. I feel welcome when I visit and the staff are like an extension of my family. Thank you"

"On the whole, I would say the care I received over my two weeks stay was good. The staff were kinds, caring and considerate, and the activities arranged were enjoyable for all who wanted to take part, but towards the end of my visit, I sensed some disquiet. Staff had been working very long hours I think, not disclosing anything to me, I felt some action should be taken. On my last two days, meals were very much delayed and outside staff brought in to serve in the dining room. I felt must have been some dispute between staff and management which to me was very sad because I had really enjoyed my stay. If the difficulty could be resolved amicably I would certainly cross the "likely" box."

"It was my mum's birthday and due to COVID-19, we knew visits would be unlikely. We had a call to say we could visit through the window. On the day it was raining, the staff were wonderful allowing us to stand undercover and visit through an open door with mum 3 metres away. It was only 20 minutes but this made a huge difference being able to see mum open her presents. Mum has made great improvements and the staff are fabulous."

"I am a regular visitor to the Barchester Cubbington Mill Care Home in my role as the Parish Vicar. I meet with residents at least twice a month, once for a service of Holy Communion and once for a simple Bible Study that involves lots of photos of the Holy Land. In December the church holds a Carol Service in Chubbington Mill for residents and on Christmas Eve I organise carol singing around the tree. On all of my visits, I am met with happy well cared for residents who enjoy life at Chubbington Mill. Several of the residents I have been meeting for many years. The facilities are spotless and the staff are always very friendly and caring."

"The care my mother received throughout her stay was absolutely exceptional. Outstanding. Attention to detail was thoughtful (hair brushed, nails cut, clothing frequently washed and changed). From the Manager to the handyman/maintenance man, we were helped every step of the way. The nursing staff were caring, professional and always available. The cheerfulness and friendliness of each member of the care team shone. Even on death, the care and helpful continued. Huge thank you."

"In September my mother moved into Cubbington Mill, followed by my father in October. Management was able to organise a double room so they could both be together. Sadly my mother passed away on 14th November. During this process the family were looked after particularly well, helping to ease the pain. We were fed well and checked upon regularly. "A lot of care homes are scary, dark, smelly places - sorry but that's just how it can be from what I have seen. Cubbington Hill has a warm, welcoming atmosphere with bright, fresh reception and lounge area, coffee on tap and biscuits whenever wanted. More important than this however is the warmth and welcoming attitude of the staff here - all of whom work relentlessly to serve others, sometimes under very difficult circumstances. Real people who really care and a place that really can feel like home."

"My mother stayed here for nine months. The home is cozy, clean and the staff were very caring. I always felt she was in good hands. My mother, at first accepting of needing full-time care, became increasingly difficult. The staff tried hard to make this arrangement work but eventually had to refer her to a more secure facility. Cubbington's facilities are excellent - the furnishings, the dining room and food and the beautiful garden so well maintained. My mother enjoyed many hours sitting on the garden seats and noticing the birds and flowers. She often did not want to eat in the dining room and they always accommodated her by bringing food to her room as well as making something that wasn't officially on the menu. Visitors were always welcomed. Living overseas, communication by email was critical for me and for the most part, Cubbington was good about keeping me informed. I would recommend Cubbington to anyone looking for a home where walled-in facilities are not required."

"Mum's room was comfortable and bright. The food was good and she was kept safe. Being someone who likes regularity she found the unpredictability of events difficult - often her bed remained unmade until late morning. She felt there were not enough staff. However, she was delighted with all the care and warmth which she was given. Perhaps the phone system could do with an update. It was difficult to speak to her using the home's phones. She does not use one of her own."

"Dad has had a good stay at Cubbington Mill. He arrived in a very poor physical state from hospital and soon was nursed back to a good standard of health. He is cared for with respect. My only criticism is that his pain management could have been better for his end of life care."

"My first impression of Cubbington Mill Care Home was very warm. Caring not only for the patients but also for family members. My brother was very well cared for by both the nursing staff and all members of the general staff. He died with dignity and I was very very happy with his care. "Mum really enjoys staying at Cubbington Mill for short breaks or respite. The care she receives is second to none. The staff are incredibly kind, caring and professional. They go the extra mile to help mum feel at home. The chef created a special menu for her, the facilities are fabulous and the planned activities are wonderful. It is really reassuring to know that she is so well cared for. The residents receive the best care and attention whatever their healthcare needs. When the time comes for mum to leave home, this is where she wants to be. In the meantime, thank you for all that you do."

"Mum, aged 91 years, spent 7 weeks in hospital following a fall at home and a fractured hip. We expected her health to continue to deteriorate but on transfer to Cubbington Mill Mum's health stabilised and she regained weight. As a result, Mum could access and participate in a range of activities and social events. Mum's end-of-life care was very good; her last weeks were peaceful and comfortable. The nursing staff were sensitive to Mum's needs and liaised closely with the GP to ensure that Mum was receiving the best care and treatment to meet all her needs."

"My dad was looked after by the staff to an extremely high standard. I could not fault how he was treated, everything from his personal care, nursing treatment to cleanliness of his room and clothes, exceptional!! Cubbington Mill was described to me as a "family" home and this is true. My dad was only there for around 6 weeks; this didn't matter, it could have been 6 years, they loved him in his final days. Thank you."

"Mum was not at Cubbington Mill for very long following a fall when she broke her hip, but she was always treated with the utmost care and compassion which was extended to my brother ab myself during the difficult time as mums life ended and what to do next. I was told if I needed to go in for a chat I was welcome after mum had died. During that time I spent at Cubbington Mill I was able to observe the activities taking place and chatted with some of the residents and staff. I was happy mum spent her days at peace in such a lovely environment."

Also, the cleanliness and general appearance of the home is lovely, althogh the recent refurbishment was somewhat protracted and the overall feeling is a little less homely and more corporate - not really conducive to feeling comfortable. "My mother had been in a care home in Essex for 8 years but when my father died, she moved to Barchester Cubbington Mill Care Home to be closer to the family. There was no comparison to the previous care home. There is a wonderful feeling about Barchester Cubbington Mill Care Home, from the approach through the beautiful gardens to the warm welcome and the clean bright interior. The staff are friendly and professional and could not have done more in their caring treatment of my mother, especially as her health deteriorated and she needed more attention. My family cannot thank everyone enough for giving my mother a very happy home."

"Cubbington Mill provided palliative care for my mother during the last three weeks of her life after she left the hospice. She had felt very secure and had blossomed at the hospice and faced leaving for a nursing home with trepidation. The staff at Cubbington Mill were very caring and efficient, dealing swiftly with any hiccoughs on her day of admission and providing a calm and beautiful room for her. I soon felt confident in the care she was receiving and I know she particularly enjoyed the food and ate everything almost until the end. The Cubbington Mill staff were particularly kind and caring right at the end and to me after she had died."

"My auntie came to Cubbington Mill for a couple of weeks respite while family members were on holiday. She loved it and was fortunate to be able to stay on. I particularly remember coming to the open day when the staff dressed up and there was lots of very appropriate entertainment. I hadn't seen my auntie laugh so much for years - she thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Nothing was too much trouble for the nurses/carers ever."

The grounds are kept in a beautiful condition and the flowers are lovely for the residents to see. A hard job well done. "I feel very sorry for the residents at the large turnover of staff. They just get used to a carer or nurse then they leave and have to get used to someone else, it is very upsetting for them. I don't know if anything can be done about this. Another thing is the food could be better and more could be done for diabetic patients as they are refused most of the sweets. I think the chef ought to take this into consideration."

"Dad is in Cubbington Mill on respite a the moment. Although he has been there two weeks. He has only spent 6 nights in the home. He fell after 5 nights and was admitted to hospital for 8 nights. I was asked by his doctor in hospital where I wanted dad to be. I had no reservations on saying return to the care home. His care and appearance is so much better than in hospital. We are asking are asking as of next week for permanent stay at Cubbington Mill."

"My mum was transferred here for nursing care following a hospital admission from a previous residential home that could no longer care for her needs. From the very first day my mums care here was exceptional from the managers, nursing staff, domestic staff and kitchens. Whats more with the care that I received kindness, sympathy and support given to mum throughout her short stay to her death was outstanding. I was made to feel like one of the family and it made a very difficult time so much easier. I cannot recommend then highly enough."
