Hi, my name is Dimpho, and I am the General Manager here at Cubbington Mill. Welcome to our website!
I joined Cubbington Mill in March 2020 as a Deputy Manager and brought with me previous experience in managing clinical aspects Elderly and Dementia care. I am passionate about delivering bespoke patient centred care to the highest standards. I believe in supporting colleagues to ensure that the care we provide does not only achieve best possible outcomes to the residents under my care but also seeks to celebrate their lives as individuals.
As a nurse, I believe in evidenced-based practice and supporting my colleagues to deliver quality care which is person centred and upholds the values of Barchester. I embrace lifelong learning for myself and the rest of the team, in order to update our practice and remain responsive to the needs of residents under our care.
Karen has worked at Cubbington Mill for over 10 years. She is trained in NVQ Levels 2 & 3 in Care. This, alongside her many years of experience at Cubbington Mill, means she not only delivers exceptional care to residents, but that she also can assist in training any new carers so they can achieve the high care standards required when working for the home.
Having finished university with a BA Hons in Fine Art, I found Cubbington Mill the perfect place to share my creative ideas through unique experiences for each resident. I am constantly inspired after my daily conversations with the residents – this helps me to tailor activities to suit them and keep them as independent and positive as possible. I particularly enjoy it when I see a resident come out of their shell through an activity, whether that be listening to their favourite song that brings back memories of their youth or doing something they haven’t tried before.
Louise is a Care Supervisor at Cubbington Mill and is trained to NVQ level 2. She assists the Nurses with the day to day running of the ground floor unit, including supervising and supporting care staff at all times. Louise has been caring for the residents of Cubbington Mill since 2000 and is well known amongst staff and residents alike for her big smile and bubbly personality.
I joined Cubbington Mill Care Home as a Care Practitioner and since September 2020 I took the role of Administrator as I have more than 20 year experience in this role. I deal with all the financial issues of the home and support our General Manager. I am always here to support our residents and their families with queries, financial or other. I am proud of our team here in Cubbington, that we get to know our residents and their families is a lovely element to my role.
Oliver has been in the catering business since 1995. He has worked in many different settings, including hotels and restaurants. Oliver joined Cubbington Mill in 2016 and works alongside the Second Chef to deliver first class service to residents at our home. In Oliver's spare time, he enjoys playing the piano, growing vegetables and taking care of his two young children.
David has had a career in catering spanning over thirty years. He has worked in many different settings, including hotels, restaurants and hospitals. David joined Cubbington Mill in 2015 and works alongside the Head Chef to deliver a first class catering service to residents. In David’s spare time, he enjoys sailing his narrow boat all over the country and walking his cocker spaniel, Harvey.
Waldemar has worked at Cubbington Mill since 2005. He is Health & Safety Co-ordinator and is responsible for all aspects of the upkeep of the home. He is "Green Leaf Champion" and in 2014, we achieved “very good standard” award of environmental performance thanks to Waldemar’s continuous efforts to improve Cubbington Mill’s carbon footprint. Waldemar can often be found keeping our prize winning gardens, for which we have received gold award for the 3rd consecutive year! When he is not decorating or busy in the gardens, he can be found driving the minibus on resident’s days out.
