Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Hello, my name is Rikardus and I am the Activities Co-ordinator at Chestnut Gardens Care Home.
I have worked for Barchester for five years and was so excited to be part of such a excellent team at this beautiful home.
Every day I look forward to supporting our residents in living a full and enriched life and especially enjoy the outdoor activities that we arrange to the local attractions, even if the weather can be unpredictable at times.
We also hold loads of varied internal activities so everyone is catered for and the musicians and therapy animals are a very big hit.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Employee of the Month For March
It is has been a busy month in March and as always the catering team have been amazing . This month sees our Head Chef awarded the Employee of the Month. We cannot thank him and his team enough for the hard work they put in.
The Royal Mint Museum
The Royal Mint Museum recollection box
Residents enjoyed an afternoon reminiscing about old good days, the Royal Mint Collection brought back great memories of times gone bye and they were able to share these with everyone, it brought many smiles to us all here to listen about their fascinating life's they had.

Private Dining
We here at Chestnut Gardens provided an afternoon of private dining so one of our residents could have her family come and enjoy our fantastic catering and be surrounded by her loved ones. I think from the photos you can see it was huge success.
Connecting Croydon
Connecting Croydon held their monthly networking meeting here at our home . Another fabulous event bringing local businesses and charities together and viewing our outstanding home and engaging with the staff and residents .
Zoo Afternoon
It was an afternoon full of animal mischief again when the mobile zoo came to visit the home.
Residents at Chestnut Gardens were so relaxed and not at all worried about holding the snake and spider in their hands along with the other small creatures brought to the home .
