"Cedars cared for my mother superbly so when my husband needed help, I could no longer provide (he has Lewy body dementia) I knew where to contact. He has been there for 16 months now. He is settled, extremely well cared for and genuinely loved by the carers who say he is a perfect gentleman. I can sleep soundly."

"The first thing to say is that the staff are amazing and giving it 110%. However, I do feel that since my mother became resident in February this year the care home has been grappling with severe staff shortages, now exacerbated by the Covid-19 Pandemic. The only thing I can say is that the staff are doing an amazing job in very difficult circumstances but hopefully once better times arrive, they will be able to achieve the staffing levels they need. However, I am increasingly alarmed at there being no long term strategy that I am aware of to reinstate family visits safely and get the residents out of their rooms, even in small groups, to speak to other residents. Mum's mental health is being badly affected by her isolation."
S Bcarehome.co.uk rating: 4.25 out of 5
"The staff and general atmosphere within the home are warm and welcoming. There has been more evidence of room cleaning this year and the domestic help appears to have increased. Unfortunately, there still appears to be issues regarding washing and tumble drying clothes that appear to sometimes shrink or contain a residue? due to washing powder. The food is sadly often cold and lacks seasoning although the difficulty of meeting the needs of everyone is acknowledged. The activities arranged for residents are stimulating and provide a friendly and interesting environment. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, this was ended but the staff has made every effort to maintain health, safety, and wellbeing. Thank you."

"My parent has been a home resident for 18 months. They have been treated with the utmost care, dignity, and support. The staff offer exemplary personalised care and show such thoughtful kindness at every step. My parent is happy, settled, and feels at home. We could not ask for more and have no concerns for their happiness and wellbeing. We unreservedly recommend the home to anyone needing or considering care."
L Hcarehome.co.uk rating: 5 out of 5
"My Mum has been well looked after and I think she enjoys being here. She likes the activities, but as she gets older we have noticed how more vacant she has become and cannot join in so much."

"Choosing a home for my mother was very difficult; after looking at other homes we immediately felt on visiting a warmth in the staff who went out of the way to explain everything at this difficult time. My family and I found Cedars Nursing Home exemplary in the caring way they looked after my mother in the last few months of her life. We visited the home and all times of day, not once doubted the professionalism and care. We cannot thank them all enough."
David Pcarehome.co.uk rating: 5 out of 5
"My overall view of The Cedars is good. The staff are excellent, competent, caring and friendly. They treat the residents with care and dignity. They are also open and friendly to relatives and willing to take the time to chat and answer any queries or concerns. The activities are varied and interesting and care is taken to encourage residents and family alike to take part. The Cedars is definitely one of the better homes and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them."

"I visited today. My step mum has been at The Cedars for a few weeks. She is so much happier than before. The staff are kind and want to care for her. It seems to be a friendly place, where residents needs are well met. My step mum feels she has 'come home'."

"Although I have marked most of the categories good, I believe them to be very good. My mother has only been in the care home for a month but here there has been a marked improvement in her general condition. The staff have been friendly and cooperative and professional and made what was a difficult time for my mother (and her family) a less stressful process. I would not hesitate to recommend this care provider."
Adrian Fcarehome.co.uk rating: 4.17 out of 5
"I visited my stepmother after her move from a previous home. She was so much happier! Her room was clean and both her and the room were obviously well cared for a huge improvement over the previous home. The staff obviously went the extra mile for the residents and my mum was getting real care. She was healthier and happier than she has been for a long time."

"My first impression of The Cedars was excellent and a pleasant relief because of bad press. We had looked online for care homes and were worried. We viewed another care home because it is local to us. We were nowhere near impressed as The Cedars. The care and attention to Mum was excellent, we couldn't have asked for more."
B Ycarehome.co.uk rating: 5 out of 5

"My sister has been a resident since December 2018. The care she has received has been fantastic, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. When I visit my sister and meet a member of staff, there is always a bright and sunny greeting. The facilities are so homely and comfortable and the food smells delicious and displayed on the plate with care. I could not wish for more for my sister."

"Mum settled in very quickly on her first day at The Cedars. The staff were brilliant and really made her feel at home. The signing in process was very simple and painless. Loved the clothes making service. Mum's room was freshly decorated and spotlessly clean. I'm confident mum will be happy here. The activities lady has been fantastic and gets mum dancing and singing."

"I have only visited the home three times, the last being yesterday on the occasion of my friend's 96th birthday. I found her looking very smart and well cared for and the staff had set aside a beautiful sitting room to accommodate the 18 visitors she had. They provided a lovely afternoon tea complete with birthday cake, and we had a very pleasant afternoon. I have always found the staff welcoming and caring and so far have been very impressed with The Cedars."
J Gcarehome.co.uk rating: 4.75 out of 5
"My mother 1st stayed at Cedars for respite in December 2018. At the end of this, it was decided that she really needed 24-hour care. We are so grateful that she is in such a lovely place, we know she is totally safe and well looked after by the dedicated team. Nothing is too much trouble. The way the team speak to and look after mum is exemplary. She has a lovely, airy room and the new décor throughout Cedars is beautiful. A huge thank you to all the team, for caring for my beautiful mum."

"It is not the fabric of a care home that makes it a good placement for a loved one, it is the engagement with dedicated staff who are always welcoming and so kind. The Cedars Nursing Home has cared both for my late father and my mother who died this week with dignity and respect. I cannot speak highly enough of the dedication the staff show towards residents and visiting family and friends. Their approach is always sincere and nothing was too much trouble for them despite how busy they always are. I visited nearly every other day and at different times so I gained a real feeling about the care given. The manager has always been more than accommodating and at all times, so approachable. A real asset to the home, well done to all."

"Prior to Brighterkind, it was common for bells to ring almost continuously. This changed, however on 3/9/16, once more bells are ringing and ringing. It seems that some bells are being ignored?"

"Overall this is a very good care home. A few things need to be attended to, to make it excellent. The new manager seems to be aware of all the points discussed at the meeting today and things are in place already to address these issues."

"My Mum who is 99 and recently broke her hip, needs constant nursing care. I am very pleased with the care given to my Mum by The Cedars."

"My mother stayed at The Cedars twice on respite and is now a resident, that says it all! The surroundings are fabulous. It's like one big family. Even me, as a visitor, feels part of it. As a son, I want the best I can get for my mum and I don't think I could find anywhere better. I have marked everything as excellent because that is how I feel."
David Wcarehome.co.uk rating: 5 out of 5
"Mum sadly was not able to return to her residential care home due to a rapid deterioration in her health. We were offered the Cedars as a place where mum could be well looked after and where we as a family could spend quality time as she was for palliative care. The care that mum received and support we received as a family were amazing. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome at such a difficult time. Mum was only at the Cedars for a very short time but would have loved it if she had been more aware."
Jon Lcarehome.co.uk rating: 3.83 out of 5
"Could be a very good home but staff turnover of the more worthwhile employees is so very high. It lets the home down and standards drop every time this happens, especially as the staff leaving tend to be key personnel. It makes one think that there must be an underlying problem, either wages or upper management for this to keep happening. For this to happen is a great shame as the home has high potential."
Kenneth Ccarehome.co.uk rating: 3.67 out of 5
"I am very happy with the support my Mum has received since moving in. The staff are very helpful. The only comment is Mum arrived with her wheelchair which has now gone missing since the decorations. If it could be found that would be nice."

"Our decision to place my wife into The Cedars was the best one we've made. The entire experience for her and family members was amazing. All the staff went the extra mile in their care duties. They could change their role from nurse/carer etc straight into a mothering figure when it was needed. They all worked as a 'well-oiled machine' and treated my wife with dignity and respect and we became friends. It was a delight to come to visit The Cedars. The decor was so relaxing to everyone. It was comparable to a high-class hotel."

"My husband has now been here for a month. He has Lewy body dementia. I knew about the home from a few years ago when my mother was here. I cannot praise The Cedars enough. My husband is really treated superbly here. The staff are so supportive and we both enjoy and participate in the afternoon activities. So well done to The Cedars. He could be here a long time."

"Dad was made very welcome as were us as a family. Sometimes I feel the residents are left unattended for long periods. However, I feel the staff are doing their best. The staff are very friendly and caring. Dad seems to have settled in well and responds well to the staff. He loves attention and interaction with them."

"The Cedars Nursing Home has improved tremendously since my Mum has been a resident. The staff are like one happy family, put themselves out even with activities making sure everyone is ok. Management staff very approachable and friendly, they told me the door is always open. Nursing staff great too any concerns they contact the doctor also inform me. Mum's room is charming kept clean and tidy with a lovely view. I have asked my mum if she’s happy there on many occasions with a reply “Yes”. Thank you all at the Cedars."

"When I visit, the staff are always welcoming. Each resident is treated as an individual and there is a strong sense of community. There is a good variety of activities and always a happy atmosphere. In the recent hot weather, good use has been made of the well-kept gardens. It is friendly, relaxed and well organised and I enjoy spending time there with my friend and seeing her valued and well cared for."

The dedication, love and affection shown towards her by all the staff was amazing and ensured her comfort and safety throughout her stay. The relaxed, happy atmosphere created by the staff was a pleasure to experience and certainly was enjoyed by my mother. Thank you to the Manager and all the staff for what they did for my mother."
