Caring, compassionate and always positive is how I would describe every member of staff who looks after my mum at the Cedars care home. Altzheimers can make her difficult and demanding but she is treated with dignity and respect at all times.
Clean and comfortable, beautiful surroundings, a huge range of activities and welcoming staff - I would highly recommend!

My Mum, who has dementia, joined The Cedars five weeks ago. She is being cared for really well. The staff are understanding and working hard to get to grips with Mum's likes, dislikes and sometimes challenging behaviour. I feel that after years of worrying about her when she was in her own home, I need no longer fret.
Mum's rooms, small living room, bedroom and ensuite in the Georgian part of the building, are comfortable and nicely decorated. The lounges and other communal areas are well laid out and attractive.
I love the fact that there is nursing care on site.
After visiting many care homes I am delighted to have found The Cedars.

My mother in law has been a resident for a number of years at Cedars. The care is first class. The staff are efficient and very approachable. You are always kept informed of her health as well as all the various activities that are available. I must say the activities are excellent the team really do go the extra mile for everyone. I would highly recommend Cedars.

Cedars is a wonderful, caring home with great staff.

My Mum has been a resident for nearly 3 months and I’ve been impressed with the standard of care. Communication with residents and family is also excellent.

I visit most days and have got to know most of the staff and all are wonderful.

The coffee and cake is great too!

My wife's aunt has been at Cedars for 8 months in the dementia community and she has settled in so well. The home is situated in beautiful grounds and is immaculate. Every member of staff you meet always greets you with a smile! The girls on reception are so kind and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Another added bonus is there is always cake on offer!

"My mum moved into Cedars in February and was treated with kindness dignity and respect from the very start. There is such a lovely family atmosphere and a really warm 'buzz' about the home. I was kept informed of my mothers health and was called whenever there was a concern. I would recommend the home to anyone looking for somewhere for their loved on. The staff are just brilliant."

"Very disappointed with respite care experience. Not all that was promised. Would not use again or recommend. Food on 1st day - appalling. Care not bad but understaffed. Effort to aid my mothers mobility did not happen. and do something about the bell system constant beeping night and day not restfull."

"I am overwhelmed at the standard of care my Mum receives at the Cedars. I moved her from another care home locally where I was very disappointed. The staff at the Cedars are fantastic. They CARE. They engage with the residents all the time. They genuinely want to make sure every resident is an individual and every need is met. The activities are geared to individuals and there is always something going on. The staff are very open to feedback and encourage regular meetings for families to hear about where they can improve. The food looks delicious and they create individual menus for residents. The new refurbishment is outstanding in quality and design - it's like a plush hotel! I am always greeted with a warm welcome from reception through to nursing care, housekeeping and laundry - everyone refers to me by name and I feel the staff are happy in their jobs and proud of where they work. Well done to the Barchester Team - you are amazing!"

"A wonderful caring residential home. The staff are so friendly and the care they give is outstanding, not only to the residents but to their families. The home sits on the most beautiful grounds and is immaculate inside. My mother has only been there a short time but we are hoping she can stay as she feels safe and not alone, mum has made some friends and is very happy."

"The staff at Cedars Nursing Home always demonstrate a good knowledge of my mother, for example, will use my mother's unusual terminology when giving feedback. They use good skills to encourage her to engage in activities. The home's activities are central to the varied needs and interests of the residents and it is lovely to see much staff involved in the activities."

"Our perception of The Cedars over the last three years has been poor. This is due to the high turnover of management and staff. Over the last four months, under totally new management, the care has vastly improved. We have been with the home now for over six years, and it has been a bumpy road. Continuity of staff and management is of paramount importance to maintain the high standard of care that we expect. This far above decoration, there are just window dressings, staff and management are the important factors."

"We visited my aunt on her Birthday, we were warmly welcomed. The chef made her a lovely Birthday cake. Many staff, admin, carers and her nurse wished her a Happy Birthday. She was made feel special and so were we. Thank you so much."

"Our mother passed away recently after more than three years at the Cedars. The staff are all friendly, smiling and happy and Mum was really happy there. The buildings and surrounding gardens are lovely, there is a really wonderful variety of activities and events and the staff really do care for the residents. I knew my mum was popular there but I was genuinely touched by the number in tears and offering their condolences when she passed. I would not hesitate to recommend the Cedars to anyone looking for a home for their loved ones."
