The Cedars Care Home in Salisbury
The Cedars is a beautiful and friendly care home in the village of Landford, 10 miles from Salisbury on the edge of the New Forest National Park. Our warm and inviting residence provides the comforts of home with 24-hour residential and nursing support for older people. We also provide specialist dementia care for individuals on different stages of their dementia journey, and respite care is available for those requiring shorter stays.
Dementia Care
We provide specialist support for individuals living with dementia in our bespoke Memory Lane Community, where care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person centred approach. We have also invested in a 'Magic Table' for our home, an interactive light projector designed to support people living with dementia through mentally and physically stimulating games.
Each unit features two living rooms, and new residents can choose between the traditional features of Old Cedars and the more modern style of the new wing for their bedroom. We also have woodlands, ornate gardens and raised beds, which are perfect for fresh air and socialising.
Our activities coordinators plan a wide range of activities for each day of the week, from picnics in the New Forest and pub lunches to dancing and live entertainment. If it’s sunny, staff try and get outside, so everyone can appreciate the best of the day. Residents vote on what they would like to do in monthly activity meetings, and make comments in their satisfaction surveys, so that staff can be sure everyone’s looking forward to something, every day.
Technology has opened up the world for residents here at The Cedars. From meeting a great-grandchild for the first time on Skype to a live virtual tour of an art exhibition in Copenhagen, staff are on hand to guide residents through the wonders of new and exciting technology.

Our Team
The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Sam Humphries
Hello, my name is Sam and I am very excited to be joining the team here at Cedars. They have recently achieved an inspection rating of ‘Good’ therefore I am already proud of a hard-working team and look forward to working with them. I look forward to providing them with further, ongoing support to enhance their care delivery and the overall experience for our residents.
Where I worked previously, I assisted the team gain a wider knowledge and understanding to provide quality care and this enabled us to improve the overall inspection rating to ‘Good’ also. I believe that good, strong team working can achieve better outcomes.
Since 2007 I have enjoyed working within this care sector and have gained a varied knowledge and understanding to enable me to support those in need of care and assistance. In 2011 I graduated as a nurse at Southampton University.
I also appreciate the need to look after the families of our residents and ensure we meet their needs also. Recognising the needs of the family as a whole will help us to deliver complete, person-centred care for our residents and enable them to be empowered to live their lives to the full.
Please do not hesitate to contact me via phone or email. I am more than happy to discuss the needs and/or concerns you may have for yourself or your loved one. We look forward to hearing from you!
