We all know that Christmas is going to be a little bit different this year. Which is why our care homes are going above and beyond to ensure our residents have the best festive celebration. We have a number of fantastic events and activities planned to help bring that festive cheer to all that live and work in our homes, nutritious Christmas menus packed full of delicious festive treats and we have been working hard to ensure that families can see their loved ones this Christmas in a warm COVID-secure comfortable environment.
Festive activities and events
We have a vast array of activities and events planned across all of our homes over the festive period to ensure that our residents have the best festive celebration possible, from festive arts and crafts sessions, to virtual streaming events and shows. - Live virtual Christmas performance form the Philharmonia Orchestra
- Live virtual performance of a Christmas Carol from the Old Vic Theatre Company
- Virtual talk and Q&A from Exhibit Manager at the British Museum
- Virtual talk and guided tour of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park
- Virtual carolling
- Card making workshops
- Virtual reindeer visits
- Virtual church services
- Christmas tree decorating
One of the many things that makes Christmas so special in our homes is our delicious menus we have on offer for Christmas Day and across the whole festive period. We know how important food is at Christmas time and we've created special menus for Christmas Day with all the trimmings! Please see some example menus below.
Visiting residents this Christmas
We know how important family is at Christmas and this year is even more important, therefore we have been busy installing indoor designated visitor suites across our homes to ensure that families can spend some time together in a safe, warm and comfortable environment. We also have video calling set up in all of our homes to ensure loved ones can keep in contact whenever they wish.
To enable an easier and more convenient way of booking these visits and calls, we have now launched a new online system for booking a visit which can be found by clicking here. We are currently in the process of putting this in place for all homes and will be setting up separate visiting slots for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day to ensure that families can spend as much time with their loved one as possible during these times.
The system will help us to more efficiently comply with Government guidance with regard to tracking visitor information. For those who do not have access to the internet you will still be able to book by calling us or the contact centre on 0204 533 8900 and one of team can accommodate this for you.
