Meet the Stoneham Grove Care Home Team

Hello, My name is Megan and I have been working in care since I was 17. I have been a team leader/senior carer for 6 years. 

I started my career working with residents with learning difficulties and then moved into residential and dementia care for the elderly. My passion is looking after residents who are living with dementia, it brings me joy to know that all we do makes a difference to their day

 I love spending time with my family and friends when I'm not working and I also have a little boy who I love to take out on days away

I am a committed and experienced care professional with nearly 10 years in the health and social care sector. My journey began as a Carer at Barchester Care Homes, where my passion for supporting others quickly led me to progress into senior roles. Over the years, I advanced from Carer to Senior Carer, then to Care Practitioner, and now proudly hold the position of Community Care Lead.

I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Social Care and have successfully completed the Care Practitioner Program. I was honoured to be nominated twice for Carer of the Year in recognition of my deep commitment and genuine care for those I support.

My background includes working in nursing home settings, where I gained vital experience administering medications and supporting individuals with complex needs. I currently work in a beautiful residential home, where I continue to uphold the highest standards of care for our residents.

I take pride in mentoring others, being a reliable team member, and contributing to a positive, supportive environment for both staff and residents. My goal has always been to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, and I remain dedicated to growing as a leader in care.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and my beloved dog, finding joy and balance in the simple, meaningful moments of life.
 

Hello, my name is Louise, I am the Administrator for Stoneham Grove. 

I am proud to be part of a great team within our home. I joined Barchester in July ready for our home to open in December and am very excited to be part of a new build. I have worked in the private care sector for 12 years, working my way from Receptionist, Admin Assistant and now Administrator. 

I love my role as no two days are the same, I also get to communicate with the residents and their families. I am lucky that being the Administrator I get to liaise with all departments. I am friendly, approachable and love to learn new things.

I have three grown up children and one grandson. I enjoy family time as well as walking, dining out and going on cruises.  

Hello, my name is Peter and I am the Head Chef at Stoneham Grove.

I have worked in hospitality & catering for over 30 years & have a wealth of knowledge & experience in cooking.  I am passionate about all aspects of the food I make. 

I really enjoy baking and decorating cakes to give the "wow" factor. I always want to give the best culinary experience I can, meeting the dietary & nutritional needs of all.

I am thoroughly looking forward to welcoming our residents to Stoneham Grove. Supporting their nutritional needs and requirements whilst giving them delicious meals daily is what I most excited about. 

Hello, my name is Holly, I am the Head Housekeeper at Stoneham Grove. 

I am proud to be part of the Barchester team and very much look forward to working in this wonderful home. I have over 9 years experience in Housekeeping, working in hotels and apartments however this will be my first time working in the care industry and I’m really excited for this wonderful opportunity.

It will be great to meet our new residents and their loved ones and be part of a team who will make a positive impact, daily.

I am a Mum to a beautiful Daughter, I love Reading, Disney and Harry Potter.

Hello, my name is Eva and I have worked in various care roles including Residential and  Care companionship for 15 years. I have been a senior lead for the past 8 years. Dementia care is my passion as I love that we can make a difference to residents who are living with dementia on  a daily basis, little things mean a lot

When I'm not working I enjoy listening to music and watching movies. I also have two Bengal cats called Leo and Leona who I adore 

Hello, My name is Benita, I moved to the UK from Ghana 2 years ago, I worked there as a community nurse in Our Lady of Grace hospital. On moving to the UK I moved into residential and residential nursing care 

I love my role here at Stoneham Grove, we have a wonderfully supportive team and I enjoy interacting with all the residents and listening to their stories

In my free time I enjoy singing in my church choir and reading

Hello, My name is Rachel. Prior to joining the team at Stoneham grove I worked as a care assistant caring for young adults with complex needs. I have a level 2 distinction in Adult health care 

I love working at Stoneham Grove, the residents are amazing and all the staff are so supportive

In my free time I like to complete adrenalin fuelled challenges to raise money for charity... I have recently climbed the O2 and abseiled from the Spinnaker Tower!

Hello, my name is George, I have worked in care since I was 19 years old. I have worked in both domiciliary care and nursing and residential care homes. I transferred to Stoneham Grove from one of our sister nursing homes 

I love my role as carer as I enjoy the support of team members and interacting with all the residents and their loved ones

Hello, my name is Usha, I am a Care Assistant at Stoneham Grove.

I have 4 years experience working in the care industry and have developed a compassionate approach. I work hard to get to know my residents so I can help them enjoy their interests and hobbies. I enjoy listening to the stories the residents have to tell, I feel that it is important to work at their pace and follow their lead. 

In my spare time, I love cooking and exploring new recipes and sharing these between my friends and family. I love travelling to new places and exploring. I do enjoy trying different kinds of cultural food.

Hello, I’m Emma and I am the Second Chef at Stoneham Grove

I’ve worked in the care sector for nearly 9 years and originally joined the home as a care assistant. Caring for others has always come naturally to me, and I love building relationships with both residents and their families.

More recently, I’ve taken on the role of Second Chef, where I’m able to combine my caring nature with my love of cooking. I really enjoy cooking meals that are not only nutritious but also bring comfort and familiarity to the people we support.

I really enjoy being creative, outside of work I love to crochet, draw and do a lot of baking which I love sharing with family and friends

I have been working in care homes for around 10 years supporting residents live life to the full. In this time I have developed a compassionate approach, I love getting to know residents so I can help them thrive and I am very much looking forward to bringing that here to Stoneham Grove. 

I am excited to meet our new residents and their loved ones. Spending time with all of them and supporting them in this lovely home.

In my spare time I crochet blankets for baby's in our local hospitals. I also love to spend time with my family. 

Hello my name is Nicola and I am the Deputy Manager at Stoneham Grove. 

I have been a proud Barchester team member for 10 years. My specialisation has been in Dementia care and mental health care, for both of which I have had a passion since I was young.

My career has led me to be a part of extraordinary teams, that have helped make a difference in hundreds of lives. Along my journey, I have been fortunate enough to be named Dementia care champion of the year both regionally and nationally. I have also been named regional frontline leader of the year.

I am looking forward to helping Stoneham achieve great things over the coming years, and I can’t wait to meet our residents and help them to achieve maximum life enrichment.

I worked as a History Teacher for 12 years before joining Barchester in 2017.  

I am passionate about my job and I love working with people. I enjoy planning and providing meaningful activities that make a difference in the lives of our residents, counting their hobbies and wishes.

In my free time, I enjoy travelling, dancing, quizzing and playing board games with my  family and friends.

I am looking forward to using my skills and experience to enhance the lives of our wonderful residents.
 

Hello, my name is Luke. I am the Head of Maintenance at Stoneham Grove.

I have worked my way up from Maintenance Assistant to Maintenance Manager. I am proud to be part of Barchester, and looking forward to what the future holds. 

I really enjoy working within the care sector and meeting new people. I always try my best at what I do, and feel that I have made a difference to someone's day when I see them smiling.  I’m a friendly person, and like spending time with the residents when I can. 

In my own time, I enjoy a spot of fishing at local fisheries and spending time with my wife on our holidays.

I have a wealth of administrative experience, previous roles have included working for large global companies and more recently working within a private ambulance company. 

I am really excited to join the Barchester team and getting to know the residents and their families. It brings me joy to know I will have a daily impact and be part of enriching our residents lives. 

In my spare time,  I enjoy gardening, listening and dancing to music, walking my dog and family time! 

Hello, my name is Courtney and I am a senior carer at Stoneham Grove. 

Before becoming a carer I was a waitress within fine dining restaurants, winning an award at the Thames hospitality awards. I cared for my grandmother for over a year and this ignited my passion for care and the elderly. 

I am currently studying health and social care at Newbury college and I am loving growing my knowledge. I am really looking forward to supporting our new residents, meeting their loved ones and working along side this wonderful team and in such a beautiful home. 

I have 2 beautiful children. When I am not working I am spending time with them, whether we are on an adventure walk or having a crafts day.

Hello, my name is David. Prior to joining Stoneham Grove I spent over sixteen years working for the NHS within mental health hospitals in Reading.

I very much enjoy my role here as care assistant as I like getting to know the residents and ensuring that they are safe and well-looked after, I'm a very caring and compassionate person by nature and enjoy hearing the residents life stories

When I'm not working I enjoy keeping fit by walking, running and visiting my local gym. I enjoy watching rugby and football and support "Spurs"
