Activities at Stoneham Grove Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Iuliana and I'm Activities Lead here at Stoneham Grove.

I worked as a History Teacher for 12 years before joining Barchester in 2017.

I am passionate about my job and I love working with people. I enjoy planning and providing meaningful activities that make a difference in the lives of our residents, counting their hobbies and wishes.

In my free time, I enjoy travelling, dancing, quizzing and playing board games with my  family and friends.

I am looking forward to using my skills and experience to enhance the lives of our wonderful residents.

Gentleman's Club - Reminiscence - Favourite cars of the 1960's

We love making the most of our beautiful gardens, so at the weekend we held our Gentleman's' club outside in a cool spot
We took advantage of the lovely weather and reminisced over the question "What was your favourite car of the 1960's ?"

The gents enjoyed their discussion over which car was the best and which ones they had owned... Len waxed lyrical over his Morris Minor which he very much enjoyed owning and driving. What's your favourite care of the 1960's?

A big Thank You to West Berkshire Libraries for the first of our reminiscence boxes
All this chatting was rewarded with a glass of their favourite brew ... Guinness, Real Ale or Lager... Cheers!

Well said Monet.... We also love our flowers here at Stoneham Grove and some of our ladies took the opportunity to join our flower arranging class over the weekend.
Everyone loved interacting with one another and finding out other residents favourite flowers and colour combinations. The end results were beautiful and each resident had a lovely vase arrangement for their room

Rain Doesn't stop Play!

We were out and about again this morning in our mini bus visiting Englefield Estate which is very close to Stoneham Grove We had a wander around the pretty village, a browse in the garden centre and then we saw the most wonderful herd of deer in the estate grounds. We then made our way to the 5adaygarden Community Garden where Ali and Katie gave us an informative tour of this beautiful and productive Community garden.
The Five A Day Garden is situated in the beautiful village of Englefield, West Berkshire. It's aims are to improve the well-being of everyone in the local community by managing a growing space to provide horticultural education, horticultural therapy and to access healthy, naturally grown produce.
What a perfect morning even in the rain

We love getting out and about in mini bus.... yesterday we visited the Museum of Berkshire Aviation
Berkshire's dynamic contribution to aviation history is graphically recaptured at the museum. Run as a charitable trust, the museum is at the historic site of Woodley Airfield, near Reading
Once, the centre of a thriving aircraft industry. Miles and Handley Page aircraft built at Woodley are being re-constructed and exhibited along with fascinating pictorial records and priceless archives.
The residents had an amazing time chatting, reminiscing and looking at the interesting exhibits
