Activities at Mulberry Court Care Home

The team at Mulberry Court works hard to support and encourage residents to participate in both group and individual activities, based around their preferences and lifestyle choices. We take time to get to know each person, sitting with them and listening to them speak about their lives, interests, and aspirations. We have access to our own minibus so outings to nearby places of interest are available; for example local museums, art galleries, garden centres, and public houses. We also host themed evenings, such as 'Quiz and Meal-in-a-Basket', 'The Races (Greyhounds, Horses)', and 'Takeaway and Movie Night' that we also encourage relatives to come to. We believe lifestyle choices and activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, and it is essential that we help residents to have fulfilling and enjoyable lives.

Life at Mulberry Court Care Home

Caroline Plays her Flute

A lovely music afternoon in Mulberry Court as our Activities Coordinator created a brilliant playlist of our residents most favourite songs and even treated us all to some of her flute music.

A trip to Scarborough

Residents had an amazing trip out in our minibus to Scarborough where one of our fellow Barchester homes, Scarborough Hall had arranged an incredible event in their local church.  Barchester homes from all over the Northern region came together for what they named ‘Choirchester’.  Our residents enjoyed fish and chips on the front and then a lovely afternoon singing along with all the other residents and even the local children’s choir.

National Beer Day

Residents celebrated National Beer day in style at with a large selection of bitters, beers and ales to choose from.  It didn’t take much persuading and everyone had a little taster.  Fortunately it was a lovely sunny day and we were able to enjoy the afternoon outside in our gardens with a good old sing song.. We certainly “rolled out the barrel!”

Historic Hendon

Across our services we had a lovely time joining Rhiannon Watkinson from the RAF Museum London for an interactive talk exploring the exciting and innovative aviation history of Hendon.

Our residents were able to learn about the first flights from the fields at Hendon, the creation of the London Aerodrome and Battle of Britain pilots who flew from RAF Hendon.

The talk also included photographic and film material from the Museum’s archive. Residents across our homes had a fantastic time and we truly enjoyed the virtual experience.
