Lawton Rise Care Home in Stoke-on-Trent
Lawton Rise, set in Goldenhill, Stoke-on-Trent, offers specialist dementia care in a warm, home-from-home environment.
Dementia Care
Lawton Rise has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.
Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.
Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.
All rooms all equipped to support those requiring advanced dementia nursing, with the first floor rooms catering for less mobile residents who may require a greater level of care.
Lawton Rise is designed, furnished, decorated and operated to minimise the distress that can be caused by loss of memory, confusion and problems with speech and understanding.
Our staff understand that moving to a new care home can be a challenging transition, so we try to make this process as smooth as possible. This could be by helping residents to arrange the rooms just the way they like, or by preparing their favourite meals. Nothing is too much trouble!

Clare Dudley
Hi, my name is Clare and I am the General Manager here at Lawton Rise. Welcome to our website!
I have always worked with people living with dementia from the age of 18, as a Care Assistant and Senior Care Assistant which inspired me to undertake my Mental Health Nursing Degree.
I graduated as a Mental Health Nurse in 2010 and completed my Level 5 NVQ leadership qualification in 2012. I have extensive experience in Residential and Nursing Home Sector and have previously undertaken the roles of Deputy Manager and Home Manager in other locations.
I began my career at Lawton Rise in January 2018 as a Bank Nurse, I then progressed to Clinical Lead and then Deputy Manager in October 2019.
I feel that I am presently in the correct environment, with the support of the team, and feel passionate about my role and delivering care and supporting relatives for those living with dementia.
