Activities at Hilton Park Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jenelyn Szabo
Activity Coordinator
Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.
Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

Church Service
We recently enjoyed our monthly Church Service here at Hilton Park, held within the comfort of our home and warmly led by our friends from the Holy Trinity Church in Bottisham and St Mary’s Church in Swaffham Bulbeck. The service was a truly special occasion, filled with hymns, prayers, and moments of quiet reflection that brought peace and joy to those who attended.
Many of our residents find deep comfort in being able to continue practicing their faith, and these gatherings provide a cherished opportunity for connection, not only with their spiritual beliefs but also with the wider community. The familiar words, uplifting music, and shared fellowship create a sense of belonging that is deeply meaningful.
We are always delighted to host these services and are grateful to our visiting clergy and volunteers for their time, care, and dedication in ensuring our residents can nurture their faith in such a welcoming and supportive environment.
An afternoon in Cambridge
We enjoyed a truly wonderful day out in the minibus today, heading into Cambridge. The journey itself was pleasant, with everyone chatting and sharing stories along the way.. Once we arrived, we took a gentle stroll along the river, where the scenery was breathtaking, with punts gliding gracefully past and the historic buildings of Cambridge providing a stunning backdrop.
It was a particularly special day for Jane, as it marked her first trip out in quite some time. She was delighted to be able to enjoy the fresh air and the sights, often pausing to take it all in with a big smile. Audrey and Janet were equally enchanted by the outing and spent time simply soaking up the peaceful atmosphere and enjoying the summer sun.
By the time we headed home, there was a shared feeling of contentment and joy. It was more than just a trip—it was a chance to connect, to make lasting memories, and to share in the beauty of a summer’s day together.

A fun-filled weekend at Hilton Park
It’s been a busy few days at Hilton Park for our residents!
We kicked off the weekend with our very own in-house Bake-Off, where everyone put their culinary skills to the test. The room was filled with laughter, delicious aromas, and an impressive display of talent.
Next came one of the home’s favourite activities – Bingo! We had a fantastic turnout, plenty of prizes, and lots of lucky winners. The atmosphere was buzzing, and a wonderful time was had by all.
Getting creative with flowers
The residents enjoyed a delightful afternoon showcasing their talents with some beautiful flower arranging. Many have been keen gardeners throughout their lives, so this was the perfect opportunity to let their creativity blossom.
By the end of the session, we were surrounded by an array of stunning floral displays — and by smiles all around. These wonderful creations will be proudly displayed in residents’ rooms and in various spots throughout the home for everyone to enjoy.
A truly lovely way to spend an afternoon, filled with colour, creativity, and joy.
Christine's special outing
We enjoyed another glorious afternoon exploring the many wonderful sights at Anglesey Abbey. This trip was particularly special for Christine, as it marked her first outing since arriving at Hilton Park. She was joined by one of her closest friends, and together with the other residents, they had a simply fabulous time.
Making our residents’ wishes come true is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do, and we’re always ready to go the extra mile to create meaningful moments like these.
Retail Therapy the Hilton Park way
Animal Magic at Hilton Park
Today, our residents enjoyed a truly special experience thanks to a visit from Michelle’s Animal Therapy & Petting Party. Those who preferred a quieter setting were treated to one-on-one visits in their rooms, spending quality time with a friendly dog, cat, and a group of gentle rabbits.
There were smiles all around and plenty of warm cuddles. Animal therapy is known to offer comfort, ease stress, and often spark joyful memories — and today was no exception.
A big thank you to Michelle and her furry friends for bringing so much joy to our home!
