Activities at Chorleywood Beaumont
Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular weekly outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including the local theatre and Cathedral's as well as visits from PAT dogs, visiting zoos, musicians and entertainers. We also host evenings such as our Pizza & Quiz Night that we encourage relatives to come to. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Community is fun and active.
Life at our home
Our Divisional Winners
Well done to Diana Nica and Tracey Scully, who were named as Divisional Winners in the 'Registered Nurse of the Year' category and 'Home Administration Champion', respectively, for the 2019 Barchester Care Awards.
To make the most of a beautiful weather, before it stated raining again, residents and staff had a trip to Rickmansworth Aquadrome. They had a wonderful day, finished off by some delicious ice-cream.
Celebrating Carers Week
Chorleywood Beaumont had a day of celebrations and gifts to thank care staff at the home, who make a real difference to the lives of those in their care. Staff members were provided with a selection of chocolatey treats and were honoured by the residents, who thoughtfully added wishes on artificial leaves on a caring tree for staff members. All carer go above and beyond their roles when delivering care. Additionally, Harold, a resident and ambassador at the home presented the caring teams with certificates.
International Nurses Day
We celebrated International Nurses Day, and resident, Desmond, did a speech and presented all our nurses with a certificate in recognition of their hard work.
Patrick McNicholas, the home’s Gardner, and Mrs Hicks, a resident of the home’s assistant living apartments, gathered some residents around the home (as the weather wasn’t great for outdoor gardening) and decided to get their hands dirty by using old chested draws to plant some flowers.
