Activities at Canmore Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a variety of events as well as offering tailored programmes to stimulate residents both mentally and physically. There are regular outings in the minibus to local places of interest, such as trips to the beach for ice cream, pub visits for a pint, and regular trips to Dobbies for tea and cakes. Georgie Girl, an old English sheep dog, also stops by the home on regular basis for pet therapy. Musical entertainment is a big hit with residents as well, so we book fan favourites to come and play at the home each month. At Canmore, relatives are always encouraged to join in on the fun too.

Life at Canmore Lodge Care Home

Balloon Volleyball

Sometimes the smallest thing can bring such happiness and fun. When the balloons come out, the residents love it! We could be batting the balloons around for ages, and they still get excited about it. The carers get stuck in as well to encourage more of our residents to join, and we love seeing everyone having fun!

Fun with footballs!

An exciting day with our residents, everyone loves to join in when fit care is in! Especially if they get to kick or throw footballs! This activity wasn't just for fun, it got them moving and thinking about how to move muscles they don't tend to use often...whilst also aiming for Lindsay  thank you to fit care for coming and keeping our residents fit as well as having fun with them!

A Visit from our local nursery children

Arts and crafts with the wee ones

The children at Lauriston Nursery have well and truly been keeping our residents busy. Recently, the children and residents made a spider web with lots of fun colours! Everyone had a great time and a bit of messy fun.

Dobbie’s Trip

Residents at Canmore Lodge have been enjoying their visits to Dobbie’s Garden Centre. Enjoying a cuppa and cake and a wee chat in the café, our residents really enjoy going out to Dobbie’s because they can go around the garden centre and see the lovely flowers and plants, as well as they can go to the café and see the hustle and bustle of everyday life and even talk to people in passing who they may not know. Residents even meet up with family there to enjoy some quality time with them.

Bruce Davis – Charity Entertainer

We had the lovely Bruce Davis come to Canmore yesterday and give our residents a show! Our residents loved him and he played some great songs, everybody joined In! Thank you to those at Music in Hospitals & Care for getting in touch and giving the residents something to look forward to and enjoy! Also thank you again to Bruce for coming and not only being funny but also sharing your music with our residents!

Beach Trip

Sun's out for September!

Recently, our residents have had a great time going to Aberdour Beach (Silver Sands) and enjoying the sun with some coffee we couldn't have asked for better days at the beach before it gets cold . For some of our residents, it was their first time going to Aberdour Beach as well as their first outing with us. We are so glad to be able to give our residents the opportunity to get out and see the places they know and love Also thank you to the staff at Silver Sands cafe for being able to provide us with great and helpful service on some of the busiest days that we went.
