Activities at Burwood Grange Care Home

Many Happy Returns to our lovely Nina. 

Nina was joined by friends and family as they joined to wish her a wonderful day.
 

Head Chef Manesh baked and decorated the most beautiful chocolate Birthday cake and there were glasses of Prosecco chinking in the Bistro and as we all raised a glass to wish Nina well. 

When its cold and rainy outside there's nothing better than to play your favourite  board games and Ron and Jim often have a few games of Dominoes before lunch.

They are both very competitive and I wonder who won today ?

At Burwood Grange we have not one but two Pet Therapy Dogs who are so welcomed and everyone, residents, staff and families come for a cuddle and give treats.

Such a welcome visitor at Burwood Grange. Hot off the Press we are soon to have 3 dogs but will keep you all posted.

Our favourite weekly activity with the residents and not just the ladies is arranging the flowers into the bud vases in our lovely Bistro so the tables have lots of colour.

This week we had some lovely burnt orange roses. 

On Saturday we had a lovely Open Day at the home and welcomed new and returning visitors.

In the afternoon we had Tracey who sang lots of beautiful Jazz songs and we had a wonderful selection of cakes and refreshing Bucks Fizz to complete the day.

At Burwood Grange we believe that it is important to carry on with the activities that you used to do at home and so one of our newest residents invited her friends in to the home to make up the table of four and play Bridge.

A weekly Bridge Club is now on the cards .........

Residents at Burwood Grange Care Home enjoy the flower arranging session every Wednesday morning for our Bistro bud vases and larger bouquet vases. 

We have been really busy and lucky to celebrate so many Birthdays at Burwood Grange Care Home.

On Friday it was our lovely Freda and we all helped to make her day a really special one. Our head chef baked a very splendid cake and our residents staff and families all wished Freda a happy birthday with a slice of cake and raised a glass of fizz to wish her well.

Celebrating Birthdays is so important to us at Burwood Grange Care Home.

John our lovely resident celebrated his 95th Birthday with his daughters and had a lovely day with them and then at dinner shared his beautifully baked cake by our head chef with the other residents in the dining room.

We were very honored to welcome PC Clare Harris and her team who gave us all at Burwood Grange a very informative talk on scams and fraud and how to keep ourselves safe.

At Burwood Grange we are very lucky to have not one but two Resident Ambassadors. 

One of Marjorie's roles is to check our daily menus for spelling mistakes and display them in the menu holders in the dining rooms which she enjoys doing. 

We were thrilled at Burwood Grange to have the local crew of Painshill Fire Brigade visit us and deliver first a talk on fire safety at home and then we all went outside to see around the fire engine.

Who doesn't enjoy a pamper time? Manicures and nails kept neat and nicely painted. Its a lovely opportunity for interaction and conversation as well as a neat and polished appearance.

We had a lovely day at our annual Summer get together. Beautiful food cocktails and serenaded by the lovely Dan. 

Families, residents and friends joined in to enjoy the sunshine and being together 

we all joined for Jenga in the afternoon yesterday as it was still too hot outside. With cool drinks and slices of melon we kept cool and split into teams.

A lot of fun had by all.
