Hello, my name is Bill Brand, and I am Barchester’s first Resident Ambassador. I was born and grew up in Tottenham in North London N17, and left living right next to Tottenham Hotspur football ground to move to the beautiful county of Somerset in 1989. Whilst living in Somerset, I worked in Butlins and came into care in 2007 when I became very unwell. In my previous home, I was the home service user’s representative and represented them as their regional and national committee member for 7 years. I was living at The Manor Care Home in Bishops Hull, Taunton since 2014 and now live here!
My role as Resident Ambassador is a newly appointed role in the company. I am proud to represent The Manor and the company. I am the voice for the residents in the home and meet with the General Manager on a weekly basis to be a voice for the residents and the improvements/services we would like to see.
I currently am involved in showing new and potential residents and their families around the home and can be a familiar/friendly face to those who may find living in care a challenge. I work closely with all heads of departments to help improve services for others. We have many ideas for improving the services we currently provide and are looking forward to being creative in ways to make this home a place of xcellence.
On a personal note, I am a big football fan; especially Tottenham Hotspurs, I enjoy collecting limited edition cars, trucks etc, and love watching comedy such as Only Fools and Horses, Ronnie Barker, Dads Army, and Steven Segal for some action.
