Ashlar House Care Home in Epping, Essex

Ashlar House is a purpose-built care home in Epping set in the peaceful surroundings of the beautiful Epping Forest, and within close proximity of Epping town centre. The home offers residential care, dementia care and pre-bookable respite stays to older individuals.

Both inside and out, this home is designed to provide a pleasant living environment combined with the highest levels of care for those who choose to stay with us. Recently refurbished, the home boasts many beautiful and comfortable spaces for residents to enjoy.

Residential Care

Our luxurious facilities combined with highly trained staff ensures that each and every individual is given superior attention. Our 24-hour care is provided in a warm, welcoming environment, with delicious meals and daily activities, including a choice of therapeutic approaches.

Activities are another area we believe hold a strong part in the wellbeing of a resident here at Ashlar House. Whether a resident enjoys art, live music, gardening, flower arranging or trips out, it is all undertaken to ensure our resident’s time here is enjoyable and relaxing.

It is our philosophy that Ashlar House exists for the people we support, and life does not stop because the individual needs care. We base our approach to everyone we care for on maintaining dignity, independence and choice.

Dementia Care

Ashlar House has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.

Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.

Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.
