Edgbaston Beaumont Assisted Living

Edgbaston Beaumont is a purpose-built care home located in a beautiful historical setting that plays home to 11 bungalows in 'Bushwood Court' and 3 apartments in the care home itself.

All of our apartments and bungalows are available for purchase and are designed to be comfortable and relaxing, with all residents' needs taking top priority. Emergency alarm systems are fitted into all of our properties; these alarms are connected directly to the care home, so on site help is available 24 hours a day, should you need it. We also have CCTV cameras located around the properties to ensure that our entrances and grounds are monitored for added security.

An added benefit is that, whilst living in our independent apartments, you can still have the additional services from the main care home available to you.

Carolyn Clegg

General Manager

Hi, my name is Carolyn, and I am the General Manager here at Edgbaston. Welcome to our website!

I have been working within the care sector since 2009. I started my career as a healthcare assistant on an intensive care unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Here I found my love for nursing and took the leap back into the education system, where I attended university and gained my BSC Hons Nursing Degree.

I have worked in various nursing fields, which is where I discovered my love for caring for older adults, and I have acquired tremendous knowledge and understanding of the care sector. I have gained valuable insight into both the challenges and the rewards of delivering high standards of quality and person-centred care.

My Barchester journey started as a Registered Nurse within a nursing home setting caring for older adults with dementia and complex care needs. I was then promoted to Clinical Development Nurse, where I was responsible for looking after 10 Barchester homes, ensuring high standards of care and staff development were being delivered, maintaining the best possible experience for our residents.

I began my transition through the General Manager pathway as acting GM in a 30-bedded nursing home. It was such a positive experience and I enjoyed how my vision and values could be translated throughout the rest of the team and positively influence the care provided; and so I was honoured to be able to become the registered manager here at Edgbaston Beaumont.

As General Manger, my aim is to ensure that my team continue to deliver a high standard of person-centred care to our residents, ensuring they are at the heart of everything we do!
