Activities at Red Oaks Care Home

We believe in making a difference to the lives of people living here with us and ensure that we provide a lifestyle full of choice and stimulation that is centred around each resident here at Red Oaks. This includes a whole host of varied activities, together with regular trips out around the region, taking full advantage of the home’s minibus. Our aim is to enable each person we support to continue to do the things they enjoy for as long as they possibly can.

Strawberry proms

Red Oaks residents, relatives and members of the Henfield community were treated to an afternoon at the proms with sounds from Brass Fusion. The sun shone down and with strawberries & cream and Pimm's with lots of flag waving there were smiles all round. We all finished the afternoon of by all singing the national anthem together.

Celebrating Life

At Red Oaks we believe that every moment in life is worth cherishing and we are thrilled to share the heart-warming fulfilment of a special wish for one of our residents. Today, we celebrate Ron who is very passionate about the R.N.L.I. and he wanted to raise some money for the organisation. Ron has been making beautiful jewellery such as pendants and earrings that he has hand painted himself. Ron decided to sell these at the garden and arts weekend here at Red Oaks. With the unwavering dedication of our compassionate team and the support of our incredible community, we were able to make Ron's dream a reality. It is a testament to the staff’s determination to make dreams come true, no matter the age or circumstance. Ron had the wish of going to see the lifeboats and saying thank you for their dedication to this job and also to hand over the money he raised at the weekend. Today we took Ron down to Littlehampton lifeboat station where he got to see the boats and also have a tour of the boat house. It didn’t stop there... we had a pit stop for fish and chips on the beach and of course to round it off with a trip to the beach for a lovely ice cream. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to R.N.L.I staff for taking time to talk to Ron and also our two staff members Sharon and Sue who made the whole thing possible. Here at Red Oaks we continue our mission to provide exceptional care and support to all our residents. We are committed to creating an environment where dreams are nurtured, cherished, and celebrated.

Red Oaks very own Poet

Anne shared a poem that she has written with us.

SILVER THREADS

Our hair thin and change hue,

Our waistline disappear from view,

Our feet grow sore and cease to run, Our noses do it just for fun,

Our hands get speckled with brown spots,

Our hip expanding lots and lots,

Our necks get scrawny with the years,

Our foreheads furrowed with our fears.

But look inside each head and find

A lovely brain and eager mind,

We're here to share our deepest thoughts,

Compassion ready for all sorts,

Just think- we've lived through crazy times,

And known of wars with heinous crimes,

Don't brush us off without a say,

You'll be the same yourself, one day.
