Meet the Newington Court Care Home team

Our wonderful team comprises nurses, carers, activities coordinators, chefs, housekeepers and more. These people are here to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet some of our staff below:

Phillis Dzowa

General Manager

Hi, my name is Phillis, and I am the General Manager here at Newington Court. Welcome to our website.

I trained and worked as a Registered Nurse in Zimbabwe for 4 years. I then joined Newington Court in January 2017. I love my work here and I always ensure that delivering a high standard of care is my priority. Through dedication and determination, I have earned the role as Lead Nurse on the top floor.

My aim is to ensure expected outcomes are met in the best possible way and improvements are made in the best interests of the people we support. I took up my new role as General Manager in April 2021.

Amy Evans

Deputy Manager

I trained and qualified at Canterbury Christchurch University in 2011. I worked for the NHS as a Critical Care Nurse on a Surgical High Dependency Unit and also Intensive Care. 

I changed roles and worked with the community district nurses for four years until I joined Newington Court in April 2019. I took on my new role as Unit Nurse Manager in June 2020 and was promoted to Deputy Manager in April 2021.

I am passionate about ensuring our residents receive a high standard of care and, as a team, we always strive to achieve our best.

Anita Hallinan

Anita Hallinan

Administrator

I joined the team at Newington Court in May 2016. My role is very varied and covers HR, payroll and accounts, in addition to supporting the General Manager and the rest of the management team. I have many years experience working in secretarial, HR and accounts roles and I am also a qualified NVQ Assessor in Business Administration. I enjoy interacting with residents and seeing them happy when joining in with the activities that are arranged for them.

Lorraine Drobka

Administration Assistant

I joined Newington Court in December 2016 as an Admin Assistant. For the past 14 years I have worked within the social care environment, which I found very rewarding.

I have over 30 years experience working in admin and accounts and hold an NVQ Level 3 in Business and Administration.

I enjoy being part of the team at Barchester's Newington Court and making a difference to the lives of those we support.

Head Chef

I come from a hotel/restaurant background and have been working in catering for over seven years now and love working at Newington Court. I have an NVQ Level 2 Nutrition and Healthcare and I am currently putting my self through a National Diploma in Nutrition to help me care and cook for our residents. Being a member of the National Association of Care Catering, I have constant updates and training to help care for your family members.

Maintenance Manager

Hi, my name is Reg, and I am the Maintenance Manager here at Newington Court

I previously worked at a leisure centre as the Maintenance Manager. I really enjoy Newington Court and Falcon Place and overseeing the care of the gardens and outside areas. I love meeting the residents and their loved ones and helping them to make their rooms feel like home.

Senior Carer

Claire is a Senior Carer for Falcon Place, she has worked for Barchester for over 7 years and manages Falcon Place with enthusiasm and dedication, she is highly thought of by the Residents and families alike and is an asset to Barchester and a great team player.

Claire is always smiling and nothing is too much trouble for her. Claire supports her  young family and  her extended family.
