Lakeside Care Home in Jersey

Lakeside Care Home provides high quality 24-hour nursing and residential care for elderly people, including those living with dementia. The well-established care home is part of Lakeside Village, consisting of Lakeside itself, the equally stunning Lakeside Manor, the premier Lakeside Pavilion independent living apartments, and the famous Mermaid pub, which has been fully refurbished to create the social hub for the village.

All accommodation within Lakeside Care Home consists of spacious single bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The home is fully wheelchair accessible and has generously proportioned communal rooms, a spa/treatment room, a nail bar and hairdressing salon and a small kitchen for residents. Set within beautiful grounds, the home has a view over the adjacent lake and is also within easy reach of Jersey’s many facilities and attractions.

Daily activities on a group and one-to-one basis are an important aspect of planned care at Lakeside Care Home. They include art sessions, exercises, bingo, quizzes, knitting groups, reading groups, cinema sessions, visiting entertainment, reminiscent work and music therapy. The activities team and all care staff are encouraged to regard activities work as an important aspect of their role.

We are always happy to discuss how we can best meet your individual needs, so please feel free to give us a call or, better still, pop in and see Lakeside for yourself.

Types of care

At Lakeside Care Home, we understand that each resident has unique needs. Our individual assessment ensures that our person-centred care approach captures what is actually important to the person and not only the care needs required, but their own wishes as well. Whether this is being active in the home and wanting to be involved in all the activities or preferring to be alone and just read a book. We celebrate each person's individuality and help them to maintain as much independence as possible. We are regulated by the States of Jersey Regulation Team every six months and have good outcomes for residents.

Our Team

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Rosie Goulding

Village Manager

Welcome to Lakeside Care Home, my name is Rosie and I am the Village Manager of Lakeside Village.

I have worked at Lakeside Village for over 5 years as a Home Manager and I have been a registered nurse for over 20 years.

I enjoy nursing and in my choice of career, I have followed a family tradition; my grandmother, mother and sisters are all nurses as well.

I did my nurse training in Jersey and enjoyed a rich and diverse career on the island, which provided me with different opportunities in postgraduate nursing studies.

I am committed to being part of the island’s nursing workforce as a clinician and manager. I also encourage people with an interest in healthcare to follow their chosen career path. I am grateful to be part of a small, yet strong, island community. Jersey is beautiful and the friendliness of the islanders is boundless.

I am fortunate to work for Barchester; the company appreciates that a skilled and competent workforce provides the standards of care that lead the care sector.

Barchester provides opportunities for our staff to study and gain qualifications in their chosen profession.

My team is committed to providing safe and compassionate care. All of us have jobs that we enjoy and this is reflected in our care services provision.

Why not arrange a visit and see for yourself?

Phil Toomer-Smith

Deputy Manager

I trained at Wolverhampton University and qualified as a nurse in 2009.

I have experience in medical, surgical, trauma and intensive care nursing. My role of Deputy Manger requires me to support the General Manager in maintaining high quality care standards, promoting independent living and ensuring that person-centred care is delivered.

Barchester has supported me in completing a BSc in Nursing at Dundee University, and I am now being supported to complete an LL.M in Healthcare Law and Ethics, again based at Dundee University.

I enjoy working with older people, supporting staff training and working with families to ensure that residents live well.
