"I accompanied my mother for Sunday lunch last weekend. When I looked at the menu I found it quite tricky to read because of the colours used. I understand that the orange is part of Barchester colours but I don't think there is a need to use it on the menu. Both my mother and myself found it hard to read, I'm sure others do too."

"Lakeside Care Home is run so well and professional from the management down to the staff. The care for my resident is 100% and meets her needs. Since going there I have watched staff interact on a level that suits their needs. I have no worries about her safety or well-being."

"My father has been a resident since late 2019. The staff are always very attentive and informative, making sure we are informed very quickly when there is any change in his health and liaising with his GP and the hospital. His room is always clean and tidy and they take good care of him. The family are very pleased he is at Lakeside as life was challenging for him living on his own."

"The staff make a good effort to understand Dad's needs and to respond to these, providing a good level of understanding and respecting his wishes. Where he has been unwell or needs further care, this has been communicated well to ensure the appropriate adjustments are made. Where there have been changes in personnel, the necessary information has been shared so that new members of staff are aware of Dad's needs."

"The Lakeside Care Home I refer to has been amazing in regard to the care and well-being of my brother. He is always smiling and seems extremely happy whenever I see him. The staff are all lovely and know and look after him to a very high and professional standard. All the staff say they love him and this is evident when I am with him and they come in to talk to him. The cleanliness and environment of the care home is exemplary and I feel very happy that he is being looked after in such a wonderful place."

"Dad has been at Lakeside since July 2023. The care that he gets is so good, he has settled in, the staff get on well with him and he likes them all. The whole atmosphere in Lakeside is really warm and friendly both towards Dad and us as family when we visit."

"Staff are friendly and helpful e.g. they asked us to complete a form about my Mum's food and drink preferences. The home is clean, light and airy. My mum looks well. Staff have arranged for me to talk to Mum on the home's mobile phone, which I really appreciate, as I don't live on the island."

"Lakeside has been a warm and attentive environment for my aunt, who has had a difficult time adapting to life since her brother died. Nursing staff and management have been very patient with her care and other complex needs, showing humanity and professionalism at all times. On a practical side, the location is beautiful, with her room overlooking the lake."

"My experience is very kind and capable staff. I have seen some of them been spoken to in a very rude and threatening manner from residents. They remain calm and in control. Surroundings are very pleasant, and furniture is chosen with care. Staff are the front line. I have no complaints."

"Both my mum and dad have been residents in 2023. My mum has had respite care and it has been wonderful! They accommodated her very quickly to get her out of hospital quickly. My dad remains in nursing care - he has had wonderful attention. Fabulous team - every one of them."

"My aunt has been a resident since the end of 2020 until she died at the end of June 2023. I have witnessed nothing but professional care, kindness and compassion from the staff who have looked after her extremely well. I have visited as often as I can, but not being a Jersey resident this has been less often than I would like. Auntie's main carers rang me with great regularity and I was kept fully informed of her condition and what was being done to address her physical and mental welfare. I think the staff are what makes the care home and that is why I have given a five-star review and on behalf of all the family, I would like to say a very big thank you to them. There are aspects of the building that could be refreshed but on balance, I'd rather the money was spent to give the staff a pay rise!"

"I went to Lakeside to convalesce after a hip operation, but they do not cater for that so I would not recommend it for a post-op stay. They are more of a care home. I could not fault the staff they were all excellent, friendly and caring. The building itself is very tired and needs a facelift in the rooms, particularly the bathrooms and the bed was uncomfortable. I was not impressed with the food. The main courses and desserts were not very appetising."

"My father has come to Lakeside Care Home after being hospitalized with a severe uti and being unable to stand. Lakeside made the transfer from hospital easy. The whole team act in a caring and friendly manner. We expected him to be well looked after, we have been delighted by the warmth shown to him and all his visitors. The meals he receives look tempting, there is a good choice and when he eats in his room the plates and food are warm. Lakeside is providing him with excellent support. Thank you."

"My father has been a resident for the last year. The staff are warm and friendly and he loves it. He informed me he has never met an unkind member. Dad is of sound mind and would let me know if it wasn't so. They only failing is the food. It is a dreadful and lukewarm by the time it gets to his room. Same menu week on week and the chef needs to learn to cook fish and stew. I take meals to my father at times because I wouldn't eat it. With so many not being of sound mind could be the reason of few complaints. Food being taken to rooms is not hot and very dry."

"I have only been a resident for a short time. I am very happy in Lakeside, so lucky to have been taken into such a lovely home. Lakeside is full of wonderful caring people, from staff to management. Nothing is a problem. Stress-free and chilled-out. The grounds that surround Lakeside are amazing, as is the wildlife. Thank you."

"Overall I can say that I am satisfied with my mother's care however, I do feel that there is a shortage of staff as on several occasions my mother has had to wait 15 minutes to be taken to the bathroom and during this time lapse several accidents have occurred. The ensuite bathrooms are outdated and need to be modernised with walk in/wheelchair shower access as a necessity. Considering the amount that is charged per week, I would have expected the rooms to be more modern and well decorated and more staff on hand. But the staff are very helpful and the food and activities are very good."

"The premises are very well kept, with wonderful grounds. The staff on the Lavender ward where my father stayed are attentive and have the knowledge and understanding to deal with all their clients. The food served is of a very good standard. We enjoyed our family meal and was better than we expected. My father has now passed away, and the attention and care we were provided in his last hours were fantastic. The team treated my father and my family with dignity and kindness we could not have asked for more. Thank you and kind regards."

"Absolutely gorgeous food. Could not be more accommodating to our needs and although our father was unwell (UTI) we were all content during our special time together - Easter meal. Dad is much happier and the care he receives is second to none."

"My father was transferred to Lakeside after having been placed at a non-specific residential home, after a prolonged period in hospital, following a nasty and recurring UTI. It was found that although my dad had been diagnosed with vascular dementia, that he would require more specific care. The staff at Lakeside not only facilitated a smooth transition, they also reassured my family with their knowledge and understanding of the condition, and candid and honest duel working approach that fits with our family values."

I would like to thank everyone for the care you gave my mother while she was staying with at Lakeside, the doctors, nurses and all the carers, you were all so kind & Understanding and showed great patience with her. Sadly she cant thank you herself but I know she is eternally grateful to all of you for looking after her so well, you really are a credit to your profession
