Meet the Lakeside Care Home team
From nurses and carers to chefs and housekeepers, staff in our home are here to deliver high quality care and services to those we support. Check below to meet some of the friendly faces you are likely to see when visiting our home:
Welcome to Lakeside Care Home’s website; my name is Honor Blain, and I am the General Manager of our 66 bed home.
I am a registered nurse and hold active professional registration with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council and Jersey Care Commission. I have a broad range of both community and hospital-based nursing experience. Initially trained and practiced in the UK, I have lived in Jersey for the past 21 years holding frontline nursing and managerial roles within statutory health and social care services as well as the charitable sector.
I joined Barchester Healthcare at Lakeside Care Home in the summer of 2019. I have a keen interest in clinical governance and standards, which I try to influence within the home, as well as being a strong advocate for lifelong learning. I care strongly about the standards of care our residents receive from our team of hard working staff across all the different departments within the home.
At Lakeside, we aim to get things right so we are always open to comments and suggestions about how we can improve the lives and experience of our residents and visitors. Additionally, partnership working with other health and social care colleagues is actively encouraged.
Thank you for visiting our website. Please feel free to join us for coffee, cake and a chat if you are considering a move into a care home or would like more information.
It is my job to induct new starters at Lakeside and Lakeside Manor. I also work alongside all care staff to ensure good standards are maintained, providing key training updates as necessary.
My name is Bobby and I have the great privilege of working at Lakeside Care Home as the Activities Coordinator.
My job is fun and very rewarding – and I love it! I regularly invite musicians, artists, bell ringers, gardeners, chefs, and various other entertainers into the home to bring joy to the lives of residents who are living here.
I am originally from Poland, but I have been living in Jersey since 2002. I joined Barchester in 2019 and I am enjoying my role at Lakeside. It is a lovely workplace with friendly colleagues and amazing residents. Previous to this role, my background has been in administration in the hotel sector.
I have been working in the catering sector since 2006. I began working as a commis chef, gradually making my way through the ranks. I enjoy cooking, and I particularly enjoy serving Italian. I enjoy interacting with the residents and their loved ones, providing nutritious seasonal meals planned with their input.
I have been working at Lakeside since 2012. I am a senior carer on the residential floor. I help settle new residents and staff into the home. I liaise with families, GPs and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the health and well-being of my residents. I enjoy my job; I ensure that my residents are well, safe and happy.
Hi, my name is Rosie and I am the village manager of Lakeside Village, which encompasses both Lakeside Care Home and Lakeside Manor Care Home.
I have worked at Lakeside Village for many years and I have been a registered nurse for over 20 years.
I enjoy nursing and in my choice of career, I have followed a family tradition: my grandmother, mother and sisters are all nurses as well.
I did my nurse training in Jersey and enjoyed a rich and diverse career on the island, which provided me with different opportunities in postgraduate nursing studies.
I am committed to being part of the island’s nursing workforce as a clinician and manager. I also encourage people with an interest in healthcare to follow their chosen career path. I am grateful to be part of a small, yet strong, island community. Jersey is beautiful and the friendliness of the islanders is boundless.
I am fortunate to work for Barchester; the company appreciates that a skilled and competent workforce provides the standards of care that lead the care sector.
Barchester provides opportunities for our staff to study and gain qualifications in their chosen profession.
My team is committed to providing safe and compassionate care. All of us have jobs that we enjoy and this is reflected in our care services provision.
