Football fun day organised for Multiple Sclerosis charity

A football fun day is being help in Worcester this weekend in order to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The event has been organised by Stacey Gormley in memory of her grandfather Joey, who sadly died with the condition in January 2012.

Activities will begin on the King George V Playing Fields in Brickfields Road at midday on Saturday (March 1st), with further events taking place in the evening at around 7.30pm.

Ms Gormley told the Halesowen News that she wants to help the charity because of the support it gave her grandfather and the rest of her family.

"Grandad was a great footballer and spent many years coaching and passing on his skill to his two sons Jason and Karl and many other players in Worcester," she added.

Multiple Sclerosis affects an estimated 2.5 million people worldwide and, for reasons that are not fully understood, it is more common in women.
